As fans of the WWE are well aware, there will be a brand new core wrestling video game released every year. Each new iteration brings with it a new features, a revamped story mode of sorts, and a handful of new Superstars and Legends for players to pit against one another – making a number of never before possible dream matches a reality for longstanding fans of professional wrestling. The same mantra will also be present in this year's WWE 2K16.
As an added incentive for laying down cash ahead of time, 2K Games has traditionally offered fans a bonus playable character as DLC. Last year was none other than the iconic WCW favorite Sting, but this year fans can expect a whole new kind of pre-order bonus for WWE 2K16 in the form of Arnold Schwarzenegger as The Terminator.
2K Sports confirmed that those that pre-order the forthcoming WWE title prior to its October release will gain access to not just one version of The Terminator, but two. Players will be able to download and add Arnold Schwarzenegger in the guise of both the 1984 and 1991 versions of the T-800, which means that wrestling aficionados can have the celebrity pummel himself inside the squared circle if they feel so inclined.
This news will come as a shock to many that are taking the announcement at face value, but fans that tuned into this year's WrestleMania 31 may have been able to pickup on the deal following an unusual entrance from Triple H. Decked out in Terminator garb, the Cerebral Assassin turned many heads with the cross-promotional theme of his Terminator Genisys debut, but that certainly didn't stop him from putting on a memorable match against a returning Sting.
WWE 2K16 has been making some waves lately for several reasons. Whether that be the fact that Stone Cold Steve Austin will be featured on the cover of the game or the removal of Hulk Hogan from the roster following ample controversy surrounding the famous wrestler and recently surfaced racial comments, there's been no shortage of news emanating from the unreleased title.
Now fans just have to wait for information on the selection of wrestlers that'll be present in the final game – which, truthfully, shouldn't be all that much longer.
