One of the, if not the, most important aspects that fans of the annual WWE video game look forward to each and every year is the reveal of the game’s roster — WWE 2K14 is no exception. While the entirety of the concurrent roster is still unknown (although a handful have already been confirmed), 2K Games took the liberty of unveiling all of the legends and modern day wrestlers that’ll be playable in the recently announced 30 Years of WrestleMania mode.

The initial onslaught of characters is enough to make any wrestling aficionado’s head spin, and a couple of highly requested Superstars will at long last be appearing in-game. The premise of allowing even more dream match-ups to play out in WWE 2K14‘s standard multiplayer options is tantalizing enough, but the possibilities are now nearly endless with the likes of Ric Flair, Batista, Yokozuna, and Goldberg now officially joining the fray.

Without further ado, glance through the roster for WWE 2K14‘s 30 Years of WrestleMania mode below:

With NWO more or less reunited with the entirety of its original roster, fans can finally pit the legendary trio against other factions like Evolution. Goldberg’s return to a WWE ring, while only digital, is something that gamers have been asking for for years, and should get longtime followers of the product excited. Meanwhile, the return of Hulk Hogan, Ric Flair, Batista, and many more famous grapplers are all welcome and set the stage for a number of classic bouts — although fans will have to pre-order the game to score The Ultimate Warrior.

There are still a number of grapplers that have yet to be confirmed for WWE 2K14, but 2K Games will get around to announcing those combatants at a later date. For now, however, the known roster should be more than enough to start generating significant buzz for the title.

What do you think of the roster for WWE 2K14 thus far, Ranters? Still some notable additions you’d like to see?

WWE 2K14 will be slamming onto store shelves in North America this October 29th and November 1st internationally.

Looks almost solid except for the retro repeats. It would be nice for the new age outlaws and xpac to appear so we could have dx vs nwo.

Agreed! All of those wrestlers were present in WWE 13, so I’m hoping they’ll reappear this year as well.

I’m not happy with the “retros” taking up roster spots at all. That is just completely cheap. They could have put in the New Age Outlaws, X-Pac, Justin Credible, Rob Van Dam, Sabu, The Sandman, any number of possibilities. Hell you could have put in The Honky Tonk Man! They have completely dropped the ball on this. 30 years of Wrestlemania! I was freaking 4 years old when the first Wrestlemania was on television. I remember it so vividly…so many things they could have done.

I truly hope that they use, with the power of DLC, the chance to get a good crap ton of additional wrestlers for this. I’m considering purchasing this game, the first time in a VERY long time. Just for this.

      Great idea as well!

Three things I hope they have:

    1) An amazing CAW and CAF (create a finisher). CAW was always decent, but CAF usually ended up really clunky.
    2) Divas, preferably without the annoying “a guy can’t lay a finger on them” thing from the past games. This isn’t to say I advocate violence against women, but my wife likes to play these games and she spends a lot of time creating her Divas, and it would be nice if my CAWs and her Diva’s could fight (its something that she hasn’t liked about the past few itterations, and she’d even settle with the old style gender neutral option on CAWs).
    3) I already forgot what the 3rd thing was.

I will be picking this one up once it comes out on the PS4 (already traded in my PS3 to get the 4) so I won’t be in at launch, but hopefully EA will surprise me and put out a quality game.

They need to make the tag teams better…. Such as the original hart foundation, the british bulldogs, the demolition with crush as well, power of pain, the rockers, the strike force, the twin towers, power and glory, and any other tag teams that were part of WWF aka WWE in the late 80s and 90s that I left out. You should also be allowed to turn on your partner whenever you want. If you wanna go all out then this is just one way to do it!

  • Bryan

I like the way you think Shaun!

    • Shaun

Thanks Bro… Its like every year THQ came out with something new and got rid of something as well. I remember the buried alive match and a few others as well. I think another good feature would be to allow you to fight from back stage all the way to the ring. Plus if you are playing as Yokozuna or any other super heavyweight only certain superstars such as Brock, Hulk, Golberg etc. should be able to pick you up not someone like Rey, Sin Cara, Heath Slater etc. What do you think?

  • Shaun

They need to have old school King of the Ring tournaments.. Also have old school Survivor Series matchs with 4 or 5 wrestlers on a team. Something else allow the factions to be bigger and allow you to have your entire faction to interfere in any match. I could go on and on.

  • Bryan

Again great idea you are on a roll!

    • Shaun

They need first blood match, and maybe even amblance match. Let you also edit your superstars attire and intro attire. Maybe you want Orton to join the nWo you should be allowed to at least put a nWo shirt on him.

  • Shaun

Hopefully the roster gets alot bigger and if bringing all the legends back then bring Brutus the Barber Beefcake, Iron Sheik, Rowdy Piper, Greg the Hammer Valentine, Honky Tonk Man, Mr. Perfect, Dusty Rhodes, Ravishing Rick Rude, and bring in legend managers as well such as Bobby the Brain Heenan, Mr. Fuji, Jimmy Hart, Virgil, and even Slick.
