‘WWE 13′ Allows Players to Control the Attitude in Universe Mode 3.0

Oct 10, 2012 by

WWE video games have provided fans of wrestling with plenty of content throughout the years, and each installment in the series seems continues to build on what made its predecessor so much fun to begin with. THQ plans to continue that trend with WWE 13, and the team at Yuke’s appears to be following through with those intentions thus far. Anyone who thought the action-packed Attitude Era story mode wasn’t enough, may be delighted to see what kind of changes have occurred to the revamped Universe Mode 3.0.

THQ released a new trailer for WWE 13 highlighting the previously mentioned Universe 3.0, and it shows off a variety of new features that make it easier than ever before for gamers to create their own story. Anyone who’s ever thought that they could craft a better WWE storyline than what’s currently aired every week will finally have the opportunity to see if they’ve got what it takes to electrify viewers. The immense number of Superstars and Legends that make up WWE 13‘s roster should allow for some truly epic rivalries, but just who enters the squared circle is up to the player.

Gamers will have plenty of characters on-disc to choose from, but even more will be made available for download via the PlayStation Network and Xbox Live Marketplace. THQ revealed the entire lineup of downloadable Superstars last week, and they’ll be available in a variety of content packs. Of course, anyone who doesn’t want to purchase new wrestlers in bulk has the option of purchasing them separately for $0.99 (80 Microsoft Points).

The following characters will be available for download in WWE 13:

  • AJ Lee
  • Antonio Cesaro
  • Brian Pillman
  • Chainsaw Charlie
  • Damien Sandow
  • Diamond Dallas Page (Fan Axxess Exclusive)
  • Drew McIntyre
  • Gangrel
  • Goldust (Fan Axxess Exclusive)
  • Grand Master Sexay
  • Jey Uso
  • Jimmy Uso
  • Layla (Free)
  • Natalya
  • Rikishi
  • Ryback
  • Scotty 2 Hotty
  • Tensai
  • Val Venis
  • Yoshi Tatsu

Players also have the option to purchase a season pass of sorts called the WWE 13 Fan Axxess Program for $19.99, and that will include all of the previously mentioned Superstars, some additional moves, and even more championship belts. Anyone who invests in the Fan Axxess pass will not only save 10% on all of the content, but they’ll also be the recipients of two very special bonuses in the form of Goldust and Diamond Dallas Page – both of which can’t be obtained any other way.

If actually paying for content isn’t something that sounds all too appealing, then fans will be happy to learn that The Undertaker’s Ministry of Darkness attire and WWE Diva Layla will both be made available for free.

WWE 13 DLC Superstars

These content packs should be landing shortly after launch, or even the same day as WWE 13 releases (there’s no confirmed date yet), and there’s no question that all of it makes for the most expansive DLC offerings for any WWE game to-date. Including Mike Tyson as a downloadable pre-order bonus, there is a grand total of 21 additional combatants that can be added to the already expansive WWE 13 lineup.

Who are you most excited to see join the roster? Which past or present WWE Superstars will you be downloading?

WWE 13 releases on October 30th for Xbox 360, PS3, and Wii.

  1. I have to admit…This game has sparked my interest quite a bit after reading this article. The last one I bought and played was SvR08 and by that point I couldn’t take it anymore. This game may change that..

    • The only one worse than 08 was 09. It’s been getting progressively better since then.

  2. How do I activate the choices that you’re givin?
So you can decide to betray your tag team partner or not, or decide to hit someone with the chair or not?
And how do the Attitude Era superstars join my Universe mode ?
