In just a little over a month from now, WWE 12 will be available to the masses and they'll be satisfied for roughly another 365 days. Aside from the annual roster update, there are a lot of new features to look forward to in WWE 12, and the latest trailer for the game, featuring The Game (and other superstars), demonstrates just that.

The new and improved 'Road to WrestleMania' mode aims to change up the stale formula used in past installments of the franchise by cutting down the number of superstars that players can choose from. Instead, wrestling fans can choose between three different routes to play through. There's the 'Villain' story arc that throws players into the shoes the the Celtic Warrior Sheamus, the 'Hero' storyline that stars the Cerebral Assassin Triple H, and an 'Outsider' storyline that will put players into the role of a created superstar (voiced by current TNA wrestler Austin Aries).

All of these stories will run into one another, which is an interesting premise, and it should run roughly 18 months in-game. This is a substantial bump up from the previous 3 month windows that were available in WWE SmackDown! vs. Raw, and WWE 12's story is said to last anywhere from 10-12 hours. It's a shame that you're unable to select favourites such as CM Punk or even the game's cover star Randy Orton, but there are still plenty of voiced roles that these characters will play during the course of the story.

WWE 12 is changing up a lot of things this year, but Yuke's and THQ seem pretty confident that the final product will please long-time fans of the series.

The 'Road to WrestleMania' looks like it will be one of the more entertaining features added to the title, and its unique take on the single-player mode will certainly change things up a bit.

Now, we wonder if Brock Lesnar will play a role in WWE 12's newly enhanced story mode...
