‘WWE 12′ Collector’s Edition: Vote for The Rock or John Cena

WWE '12 The Rock versus John Cena

After the reveal of the WWE ’12 roster, THQ had one more big announcement for the millions of fans that nobody could have smelled cookin’.  THQ announced that this year there will be a special edition of their wrestling title – which isn’t revolutionary since it has happened on-and-off in the past few years.

This year, however, fans actually get to decide who will grace the cover of the WWE ’12 Collector’s Edition.

The two options are none other than The Rock’s “People’s Edition” or John Cena’s “The Champ’s Edition.” This voting process clearly ties in with the upcoming match between The Rock and John Cena at WrestleMania XXVIII, and it’s actually a great way to get buzz building up for the big event.

Depending on who wins the contest, there will also be exclusive content either way. THQ hasn’t announced what content would come with each edition yet but, presumably, the final pack-ins will be catered to the Superstar with the most votes. Yuke’s may hold a separate contest after the current one closes in order to decide what content will be added – but they haven’t made any announcements yet.

A new trailer has been released for the WWE ’12 promotion – and features both The Rock and John Cena. It’s available for your viewing pleasure below:

As of this writing The Rock is whooping John Cena’s candy ass by over 5,000 votes, but the contest is still far from over. In order to vote, fans just need to head over to the official Facebook page for WWE Games, and vote for the Superstar they’d like to see grace us with their presence on the cover of the WWE ’12 Collector’s Edition.

The contest is a very cool way to get fans involved, and hopefully it’s the beginning of many more fan-focused events to come.

Which Superstar do you want to see featured on the cover of the Collector’s Edition for WWE ’12? ‘The Great One’ or ‘The Champ’?

WWE ’12 will be available on November 22nd for Xbox 360, PS3, and Wii.

Sorry guys, but this stuff always grabs my attention. In my honest opinion, for the sake of long term promotion and development, The Rock should not be on the cover of the game. It should be either John Cena, or the younger talent (ie, The Miz, Daniel Bryan, etc) to kick off the next generation of their gaming legacy. Constantly featuring The Rock, Undertaker, Steve Austin, Triple H and anyone of this attitude era and before generation, is further showing the rut that WWE is in. They should help separate themselves from past gaming titles like Smackdown vs raw and the original Smackdown series, and concentrate on building this franchise, and start anew with a new face for the game. Thats how I see it

You can say the same about NBA 2K11

If the wwe didn’t suck so bad they wouldn’t have to constantly go back to talent from the attitude era. They haven’t produced anything good since the days of the rock and stone cold. John Cena is decent. Not great. Its just not entertaining anymore because of the lack of star power. Its like its been overrun by jobbers. I watched The Rock’s return. That was entertaining. Its what wrestling should be.

Ill put it this way. If comic books (marvel,dc,etc) were without a good creative story and character depth it would be incredibly corny and lame. Think about how lame the name batman is. However put an amazing story behind it and character depth it changes everything.
The same principle applies to wrestling.

The Rock would only be there to sell the game to non-current-watchers… Because his movies are better, lol.
