There are many people who are going to be able to immediately take to the game, while there will also be people who may struggle a little bit during the beginning. There are some common mistakes that many players may make while playing through the game WRC Generations, and should know about them in order to avoid them all.

7 Ignoring The Quick Play Function

WRC Generations - Mud

There is, in fact, a Career Mode in the game WRC Generations. However, the main problem with this for newer players is that Career Mode is ludicrously competitive, and it is unforgiving when it comes to making mistakes.

Although it may be tempting at first for a newer player to jump straight into Career Mode, it is worth noting that even one mistake will severely affect a player's status. As such, it would be better to learn how to drive in the Quick Play mode more than anything else, as that is more or less a player's sandbox to make mistakes.

6 Not Setting Up The Co-Driver

WRC Generations - Dirt Road

Unlike many other racing games, something that the game WRC Generations has that sets it apart from everyone else is the co-driver that sits in the passenger seat. This co-driver, though they may seem like a hassle at first, is actually going to be one of the most important parts of gameplay.

This co-driver is, essentially, going to be a way for a player to know where to go next, and what to watch out for. The co-driver will tell a player when to turn, what hazards to watch out for on the stage, and so much more, so it is best to listen to them.

5 Not Using Lights

The lights are actually pretty important while a player is driving through the roads in WRC Generations. The road can actually get really muddy or dark at times - especially if a player were to, say, drive into a heavily forested area.

The lights will be able to illuminate a player's path. This will ensure that not only do they know where they are going, but also be able to see any and all hazards that are in front of them.

4 Refusing To Switch Out Tires For Weather Purposes

WRC Generations - Affiliates

There are multiple tires that a player can choose from when they are going through the game. While it may not seem like something that can change the way the game plays, it is actually very important for a player to learn about them. If a player has the wrong tires - such as using smooth tires on a rainy day - it could really mess them up.

It would do a player good to check the in-game weather ahead of time before they start their race, along with figuring out what kind of ground they will be driving on. This will ensure they get the tires with the perfect grip on them ready.

3 Spending The Skill Points On A Whim

WRC Generations - Flag

There are actually skill points that a player can use while playing through the game WRC Generations. The more they play, the more skill points a player will be able to gather up and use to their advantage. However, there are many players who are going to only put their skill points into themselves, and not their teams.

A player must also remember to put some skill points into upgrading their team's skill trees as well. This will ensure that a player is well-rounded and can take on just about anything, with their team in tow.

2 Getting Overwhelmed

WRC Generations - Snow

It is safe to say that there is a lot of stuff that a player will be able to do in the game WRC Generations. As such, it is really easy for a player to get overwhelmed during gameplay, and think that they have to do everything.

Luckily, a player can take their progression at their own pace, regardless of how much content there is. There are over 160 stages for a player to run through, along with there being more than 80 vehicles, so a player will be able to play through all the content at any pace they want.

1 Forgetting About Windshield Wipers

WRC Generations - Crane

The windshield wipers seem like a cosmetic choice - simply something that a player can turn on and off at will if they want - but it is actually very important for gameplay. This is because the roads are a mess, and a player's windshield can get splattered with muck.

By turning on a player's windshield wipers, they will be able to clear up their shield enough to actually see where they are going. As such, a player should always remember to keep those wipers on whenever necessary.

WRC Generations is available on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Xbox Series X and Series S, and Microsoft Windows.
