Stories like these remind us how silly it is to get upset about videogames. I think it's a good reminder (not because we're all going to choke our loved ones) but because there's certainly more to life than leveling up, high scores, and leaderboards.

What'll likely happen is people get a little PO'd for a while, some tabloids start warning about the dangers of video games and then everything will go back to normal.

I mean if all those school shootings haven't changed anything, I'm pretty sure one guy beating on his family won't tip the scales.

World of Warcraft was the center of this domestic dispute. If it had been about a guy going crazy over an episode of Oprah then I'm sure The National Inquirer would cover it.

Of course there will be. It's clear that alcohol was the main culprit here (that and the guys psychosis), but some people love blaming video games for stuff like this.

blizzard makes 9 digits annually, and this is the 1st i've heard of them actually doing something good with the money (instead of spending it on lawsuits etc).
i know it wont happen but i really hope WoW dies… very painfully.
