Anyone who has played The Witcher series will know that CD Projekt Red’s franchise is built for the mature gamer. From a deep and involved combat system to a storyline structured with forking paths, The Witcher truly defines the RPG genre in nearly every sense of the word.

However, with those mature themes come some more realistic depictions of Geralt’s life, namely his love life. While plenty of games deal with the romances or sexual exploits of a character from the periphery, The Witcher embraces them. Nowhere is that more clear than in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, which features a whole lot of sex.

Our colleagues over at Kotaku have put together a comprehensive list of every sex scene in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt and included clips from each. They run the gamut from sex on a stuffed unicorn to sex while in the middle of a Gwent collectible card game – clearly Geralt has needs.

When CD Projekt Red was promoting The Witcher 3 they covered a wide range of the game’s features. They explained that the open world would exist without load times, revealed that a full completion would take 200 hours, and even detailed sets of free DLC, in addition to two paid expansions. However, one aspect of the pre-release marketing that caught many an eye was the claim that The Witcher 3 would feature “hours” of sex.

At the time, we couldn’t possibly fathom such an idea – most games are lucky to get away with one gratuitous sex scene – but clearly Kotaku’s post proves CD Projekt Red was not lying. It’s actually hard not to applaud the creativity on display with the sex scenes, which go well beyond Geralt seeking physical release.

The Witcher 3 Romance Sex Explained

It’s been a week since The Witcher 3’s release and thus far gamers appear to be greatly enjoying Geralt’s final adventure. Our early impressions of the game were overwhelmingly positive, with the one knock against the game being its combat system.

However, The Witcher 3’s launch has not been without its problems, namely in the graphics department. Xbox One gamers, for example, noted considerable frame rate drops in both gameplay and cut scenes, while others saw their save data completely deleted. CD Projekt Red is apparently working around the clock on patches for these various elements, as well as graphics improvements for the PC version of the game, but those issues have been no less troubling.

Luckily, there’s plenty of content waiting on the other side of those fixes, including some mature thematic elements. Oh, and a lot of sex scenes.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is out now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
