CD Projekt Red hides one of their Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Blood and Wine DLC easter eggs so well that a fan has to install a mod in order to discover it.

CD Projekt Red already announced that Blood and Wine would be the final DLC release for the Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, but the developer certainly has not been slacking off in giving players plenty to find in the latest expansion. Not only does the Blood and Wine expansion add a substantial story quest with three multiple endings, it’s also packed with easter eggs and hidden pop culture references.

Fans have been hard at work finding Witcher 3's expansion easter eggs; so far finding a young girl, whose talk of winter and dreams of being a wolf is a clear nod to Arya Stark from Game of Thrones, as well as a reference to Dark Souls’ famous campfires. Projekt CD Red has always made the easter eggs difficult to find, but to find this latest easter egg, one fan had to install a mod just to be able to access it.

YouTuber Pippo311lp recently uploaded a video showing him finding an easter egg at the top of a mountain that is only accessible by using a free-camera mod to teleport Geralt onto the mountain’s peak. Upon reaching the mountaintop, Pippo discovers what appears to be a blank canvas resting between two pillars. But by employing Geralt’s Witcher senses, Pippo reveals a photo of Projekt CD Red’s development team. While finding the easter egg doesn’t seem to reward the player a valuable weapon or item, it certainly feels like a fitting farewell to fans.

CD Projekt Red’s penchant for littering The Witcher series with jokes and easter eggs really highlights that the company is having just as much fun making the games as fans are playing them. In addition to the recent Arya Stark easter egg, fans had also previously found a Tyrion Lannister reference in the main game. Even when correcting glitches and exploits, the developer always does it with a wink and nod, such as the addition of the taxman and the Bovine Defense Force Initiative, which created consequences for players who had taken advantage of an exploitable glitch.

Many fans are undoubtedly sad that they won’t be getting any new content for a while, especially after Projekt CD Red’s announcement that they wouldn’t be showcasing their upcoming game Cyberpunk 2077 at E3 2016. Until then, fans of the white haired monster hunter will just have to play the Witcher card game spinoff and look for more easter eggs to keep themselves entertained.

Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is available for PC, PS4, and the Xbox One.
