Composer Marcin Przybylowicz, who previously worked on the soundtrack for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, confirms that he will be producing the music for Cyberpunk 2077.

After The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt won Game of the Year at the 2015 Game Awards, more eyes are on CD Projekt Red than ever before. With the company enjoying unprecedented sales and critical success, expectations are high for its next project, the still mysterious Cyberpunk 2077. Details on the game remain scarce, but one more bit of information has now been made available.

Marcin Przybylowicz, who composed the critically acclaimed score found in The Witcher 3, will also be producing the music for Cyberpunk 2077. According to Przybylowicz, there have already been attempts to score Cyberpunk 2077, so it will be interesting to see how his influence shifts the tone of the game's soundtrack.

With CD Projekt Red moving forward with Cyberpunk 2077's musical score, it seems to indicate that development on the game is going as planned. The latest rumor indicates that Cyberpunk 2077 will release in late 2016, and while that has yet to be proven, this latest development could suggest that we will indeed see the elusive sci-fi RPG by the end of the year.

Even though development on the game could possibly be farther along than some may expect, the more likely scenario is that Cyberpunk 2077 will release in 2017. After all, CD Projekt Red is still working on content for The Witcher 3, which launched less than a year ago, and Cyberpunk 2077 is said to be their biggest game yet. If that is the case, one has to imagine that the project has proven to be a gargantuan undertaking for the company.

On the flip side, it's worth considering that Cyberpunk 2077 has been in development for nearly five years at this point, and may be further along than gamers think. Furthermore, most of the talent at CD Projekt Red is working on Cyberpunk 2077 right now, which should help speed up the game's development time. CD Projekt Red is not known for rushing out unfinished projects, though, so don't expect to play Cyberpunk 2077 until it's truly ready to be released.

Regardless of when we actually see Cyberpunk 2077, it seems like a smart move for CD Projekt Red to put Marcin Przybylowicz in charge of the game's score. The Witcher 3's music was one of the most widely praised aspects of the game, and there is no reason to doubt that Przybylowicz will disappoint in regards to Cyberpunk 2077's soundtrack.

What do you think about Marcin Przybylowicz composing the music for Cyberpunk 2077? Are you confident in his ability to provide a quality soundtrack after playing The Witcher 3, or were you not a fan of the music in that game? Leave us your thoughts in the comments below.
