Nintendo's E3 2012 Press Conference is over. The event kicked off with a bang thanks to the announcement of Pikmin 3, a game many Nintendo fans have been vocally longing for. While the conference was notably short on new details about the Wii U hardware, save for a quick video recap of the GamePad's features, Nintendo made up for it by demoing a ton of games -- as revealed in the trailer at the top of this page.

New Super Mario Bros. U will be at the top of the list for many prospective Wii U owners. Continuing in the 2D-style of New Super Mario Bros. and New Super Mario Bros. Wii -- but with clearly superior graphics -- Mario's forthcoming adventure is sure to be a major draw for the Wii U. Check out the brand new trailers for Pikmin 3 and New Super Mario Bros. U, along with a list of announced games, below.

Wii U shouldn't face any shortage of games when it launches this Fall, if Nintendo's E3 Press Conference is anything to go by. To be sure, there were disappointments: specifically, the lack of any kind of news on a Wii U installment of The Legend of Zelda or the rumored Star Fox/Metroid crossover. Super Smash Bros., announced last year, was also a total no-show. Still, there were a few pleasant surprises. The announcement of Mass Effect 3 as a Wii U game elicited a strong response from the crowd gathered at the Nokia Theater, as did ZombiU, which was first revealed at Ubisoft's E3 2012 Press Conference yesterday.

Naturally, the temptation is to start drawing conclusions about the Wii U's power based on the games shown today. The pitfall is that with games such as Nintendo Land, Nintendo has carried forward the minimalist design aesthetic of titles like Wii Sports Resort, making the system's graphical muscle hard to deduce. Pikmin 3 certainly looked fantastic, though -- light years more detailed, and with much more varied, fluid animation than previous Pikmin games. On the other hand, Batman: Arkham City Armored Edition didn't look much different than it did in previous incarnations on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.

Ranters, the jury may still be out Wii U's power, and it's ability to compete with forthcoming consoles from Sony and Microsoft, but what about the games? What Wii U title are you most excited about? What are you most disappointed about? And, finally, what did you think of Nintendo's show? Let it all out in the comments below.
