Wii U Bundles Header

As the wild winter season approaches, system/ software bundles are beginning to take shape in the snow. With Christmas discounts driving down prices, holiday-time hardware, including Nintendo's own Wii U, is looking as appealing now as it's ever likely to get.

Ahead of an expected — though, as yet unconfirmed - North American announcement, Nintendo Europe has unveiled a trio of seasonal Wii U bundles, each slated for release during the month of November, 2013.

These euro packs include:

The Mario and Luigi Premium Pack

32GB Premium Wii U console (In black)

New Super Mario Bros. U + New Super Luigi U (2-in-1 disc pack)

Wii U Gamepad (In black) + Wii Sensor Bar

-       Available November 8th (EUR)

The Wii Party U Basic Pack

8GB Basic Wii U console (In white)

Nintendo Land + Wii Party U

Wii U Gamepad (In white) + Wiimote Plus + Wii Sensor Bar

-       Available November 15th (EUR)

The Just Dance 2014 Basic Pack

8GB Basic Wii U console (In white)

Nintendo Land + Just Dance 2014

Wii U Gamepad (In white) + Wiimote Plus + Wii Sensor Bar

-       Available November 22nd (EUR)

Priced by Nintendo at 250 Pounds a pop, (roughly $400 US) these three kings make up only a small portion of the 5 total bundles available throughout Europe. Judging by the cost of the recent Wii U Wind Waker bundle (a pack that appeared on both sides of the Atlantic), any stateside equivalents are likely to retail at the much more affordable figure of $300. Assuming the typical differences between European and American sales strategies (Wednesday launches as opposed to Friday), the bundles, if announced in the US, could be with gamers as soon as November the 6th, 13th and 22nd, respectively.

Adding to the sense of American gamers being left out in the cold - at least for the time being - Go Nintendo reports that 2 unique bundles will also making their way to Japanese shores this yuletide. The packs, both of which benefit from Nintendo's recent introduction of white colored premium consoles, go on sale this October.

The 'Play Immediately' Family Bundle #1

32GB Premium Wii U console (In black or white)

New Super Mario Bros. U Wii Party U (Pre-installed)

Wiimote Plus + Nintendo Wii Sensor Bar

-       Available October 31st (JPN)

The 'Play Immediately' Family Bundle #2

Wiimote Plus + Nintendo Wii Sensor Bar + Wii Fit Meter

Judging by these 5 packs, any NA-exclusive stocking-fillers would most likely include some arrangement of New Super Mario Bros. UWii Party U and Just Dance 2014, alongside colored Wii U consoles (Black for Premium, White for Basic).

Can any of these Holiday bundles help to turn around Nintendo's ailing fortunes? What kind of price point and/or incentive packs would most interest you in a Wii U? Should Ninty cut their losses and re-enter the console race at a later date?
