The Wild West has more than its fair share of classic iconography: cowboys, tumble weed, station wagons, Will Smith; and now thanks to Rockstar Games ‘invisible things’ can be added to the list.
Kotaku is reporting that people have been experiencing an invisibility glitch whilst playing the western-epic Red Dead Redemption. The glitch is randomly making specific body parts, items, and even whole character models vanish. One user reported that he alone had seen four different variations of the bug in action.
The glitch has been affecting owners of both the Xbox 360 and PS3 version and is most prominent when multiplayer mode is activated. Some users have isolated the problem to specific regions of the map, that when stepped into cause the player and/or his horse to disappear. Which, as you can imagine, can make for some rather infuriating death-matches.

Since the problem was brought to light, Rockstar has commented on the situation, saying that they are now working on a fix:
“If you’re having issues please email RDRSupportteam@rockstargames.com. We are also actively on the forums helping people with any questions they may have about the game. Thank you all for your support and we look forward to getting a fix out as quickly as soon as we can.”
While I can understand how glitches like this can occur for any game, a part of me does wonder how a bug this widespread went unnoticed at the Rockstar QA office. Still, it’s great to see the team is already hard at work on a fix.

It happened to me yesterday when my internet started failing. I called my horse to see if that was invisible too, and he was. I was able to find a new free roam, but even when I spawned there, I was still invisible from head-to-toe.
Invisible horses are awesome. Much better than Horse Armor DLC!
Was gonna say, that's just the fabled invisible horse that the guy found and broke in.
Not a glitch.
Besides hats disappearing and reappearing all crazy like whenever they feel like it, I have not had anything invisible happen yet.
There are a bunch of glitches in this game online. Single player is perfect but in the one hour of multiplayer I've played I've experienced an invisible character, invisible gun, the game froze, my friend and I went to detonate something and when we click the button we got stuck in place and had to quit. Luckily for me I'll be spending all my time from now on with the SP.
