The show finished with a tribute to Shigeru Miyamoto, who became the first Japanese man to be awarded the Academy Fellowship.  As the closing video proved, it was a well-deserved award, given to a gentleman who has truly shaped modern video games. Miyamoto’s acceptance speech was inspirational . As someone who’s first videogame was Super Mario 64, I thought he was absolutely brilliant. The award could not have gone to a better person.

What do you think of the Award winners? Do you agree that Uncharted 2 had better audio than Left 4 Dead 2? – I don’t! Leave your thoughts in the comments below.

It's interesting how a number of the awards are focused on technical achievements as well as genre related “best of” categories – nice to see people recognized in this way.

Do i think Uncharted 2 had better audio then Left 4 Dead 2. Absolutely.

Do i think Batman: Arkham Assylum deserved Best Game. No i dont. While Batman was an excellent Batman game and enjoyable as a game on its own, i dont think it was on the same level as Uncharted 2, L4D2, and Assassin's Creed 2. That's just my opinion though.
But this is also coming from a comicbook fan and Batman fan, but some of the content that was in Batman:AA was ridiculous.
Batman being able to fight Bane with his bare hands, batman being able to do a Guile flash kick while leaping 20ft into the air with no force feedback from the kick to Bane's/Monster's face. Batman being able to deliver a punch with explosives on his fist without blowing his hand off. Gravity appearently played no part in Batman's line zipping because he was appearently able to zip Diagonally without any slack. Batman being electrocuted by a an electrified flower while he is standing on rubber-soled boots. Batman being able to leap 20ft from one badguy to another. I mean come on…does batman have super powers such as super strength? Last time i checked, he didnt.
Other than that, Batman Arkham Assylum was still the best comic book game i have ever played.
