Game Rant October Game Guide

As the holiday season looms closer, gamers everywhere prepare for the impending release of the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. There's a lot in store for current-generation systems before November hits, however, so let's jump in and take a look!

Kicking off the first day of October 2013 is NHL 2K4 for the PS3 and Xbox 360, followed by Beyond: Two Souls on the 8th, also for the PS3. Up next is the anticipated Pokémon X and Y for the Nintendo 3DS, taking the beloved franchise to the next evolution on October 12th. LEGO Marvel Super Heroes snaps into action on the 18th, with Batman: Arkham Origins hot on the trail on the 25th - both available for all major consoles. Closing out the month on the 29th are Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag and Battlefield 4, both available on the PS3 and Xbox 360.
