Non Fungible Tokens (NFTs) have become reputable digital assets. The new way to buy and sell collectibles using blockchain tokens has exploded over the past year. The rise of Bitcoin and the acceptance of cryptocurrency in general as a viable form of currency has also resulted in the increasing popularity of NFTs. The hype has certainly taken over the gaming industry as well.

The exclusivity of owning an NFT, as well as the marketplace for collectibles has generated a lot of interest among gamers. Almost every video game in 2021 has some form of a store where players can purchase skins and customization options. There are even a number of video games that feature NFTs, which take the form of characters, digital land, and other items.

Updated on August 15, 2021 by Payton Lott: Over the past few months, NFTs have continued to grow in popularity as more and more people are learning about cryptocurrency and blockchain technology. Dozens of new NFT video games are cropping up every week as digital assets become even more mainstream. Some of the games even let players make digital currency while playing. Others allow users to compete against others across the world using their own NFTs. With all the attention on the NFT space, the prices for some of these assets are absolutely absurd. This updated list includes five more unfathomable digital asset prices from some of the most popular NFT video games.

15 LeBron James Kobe Tribute Dunk from NBA Top Shot

Lebron Kobe Dunk Top Shot

While LeBron has more expensive NFTs on Top Shot, this one sold for the most amount of money. Someone bought an edition of the NFT for $210,000. There were only 59 of these cards sold and just a few collectors have all of them. The lowest ask for the card is a mere $220,000.

Not only is this moment featuring LeBron, it happened just a short time after Kobe Bryant passed away. It is definitely one of the coolest moments on Top Shot. LeBron has another legendary card that has a low bid set at $1 million. These are truly astonishing prices for virtual assets.

Navination NFT

This Navination item sold for an estimated $100,000 in cryptocurrency. The website supports sponsored streamers and content creators by encouraging people to watch streams. Viewers that log enough watch time are given drops which contain various NFTs. Simply watch one of the sponsored streamers and collect items that are potentially worth thousands of dollars. Seems like a pretty good deal. People that enjoy watching streams should check the site out. Navination is yet another NFT video game that pays users to play.

13 Neymar Unique Sorare

neymar jr paris st germain twitch headshot

Neymar has been one of the best footballers in the world for a decade. It is no surprise that his Sorare card is valued at more than $30,000. Sorare is an NFT video game that allows users to buy and sell NFTs, as well as pit them against opponents in a variety of modes. Prices on Sorare fluctuate quite a bit, so it wouldn't be a shock if this card is worth more than $50,000 today. It is incredible how much money some of these NFTs are worth. It is even more impressive that most of the buyers end up making a profit on resale as well. Anyone spending this sum of money, better hope that Neymar gets back into form.

12 Cristiano Ronaldo 2019-20 from Sorare

Cristiano Ronaldo Celebrating Juventus Win

If you thought Neymar's card was expensive, Ronaldo's NFT went for more than a quarter of a million dollars. In many leagues, that is bigger than some of the player contracts in real life. You can get a second-hand Bugatti for that price. Many of these insanely high prices on Sorare are inflated by speculators that believe these NFTs will skyrocket in value as time goes on. Because Ronaldo is likely in the twilight of his career, that is probably a smart assumption to make.

11 Ja Morant Dunk from NBA Top Shot

Ja Morant Dunk Top Shot

Ja Morant's Legendary Dunk moment is valued at over $100,000. Right now, the lowest ask price for the NFT is almost $700,000, and only three are on the market. This NFT from his rookie season is one of the rarest video game NFTs in existence. Users that packed this card became rich overnight. Who knows how much it will be worth in the future. Also. those that sold the card for an average price of $22,000 probably had no idea that Ja would rise to prominence so quickly.

10 Hyperion (God's Unchained)

Hyperion (God's Unchained)

Hyperion is a digital card that can be used in the online trading card game God's Unchained. The card that was sold was the only card of its kind created by the game's developers. Hyperion is one of four Genesis Titans in the trading card game. The card sold for 137 Ethereum, which totaled more than $60,000 at the time of sale.

9 Genesis Land Plots (Axie Infinity)

Genesis Land Plots (Axie Infinity)

Axie Infinity is one of several online games that feature digital land and assets. For 9 plots of land in the game, a Twitter user that goes by the name Flying Falcon spent $1.5 million dollars worth of cryptocurrency.

It was a historic purchase because it is the most money anyone has spent for digital land on the blockchain. Flying Falcon may seem like an insane person to assume the digital property is worth such a hefty price tag, but he has not been proven wrong yet.

8 Dragon (Crypto Kitties)

Dragon NFT Kittens

Dragon is a pet in the digital pet breeding game called Crypto Kitties. Every pet in the game is completely unique and owned by the breeder only. The new game has become a crypto Neopets of sorts. For the Dragon Kitty, one user paid 600 Ethereum, which equates to nearly $1.3 million dollars.

An unnamed user still owns the Crypto Kitty, which was purchased three years ago. Ironically one of the other Kitties on the account is named "Was 600 A Mistake?". I guess we'll never know unless the Kitty changes hands at some point.

7 12,600 Meters Squared Plot (Decentraland)

12600m Plot Decentraland

The massive virtual NFT was bought for over 500 ETH or over $1 million. Decentraland is one of the biggest virtual real estate platforms with an endless number of opportunities for players and creators. In Decentraland terms, the plot is huge. When the transaction occurred, Decentraland was far smaller, making the purchase more reasonable when it was made. Still, it is perplexing that these virtual plots are worth more than most homes.

6 Australia Edition 2020 (F1 Delta Time)

Australia Edition 2020 (F1 Delta Time)

The digital asset racing game F1 Delta Time has sold a number of NFTs for ridiculous prices. The Australia Edition 2020 sold for more than $400,000. The completely unique release is one of the most expensive gaming NFTs to date. Whoever purchased the NFT could have bought two McLaren 570S supercars instead.

5 Sunset Strip On Sunset Boulevard (Decentraland)

Sunset Drive Decentraland

Yet another extremely expensive piece of real estate in Decentraland was sold for 1.4 Million Mana, which is approximately $1.3 million today. Like the 12,600 plot, the virtual property was sold more than two years ago when there was a dwindling amount of land on the platform.

Sadly, this buyer's property is probably not worth what it was two years ago. The unnamed buyer has more than a thousand Decentraland plots, suggesting that the $1.3 expense will not be a concern.

4 Formula 1 Grand Prix de Monaco 2020 1A

F1 Monaco NFT

The prestigious Formula 1 track NFT sold for more than $3 million in cryptocurrency just four months ago. The transaction represents one of the biggest NFT purchases in the gaming space. F1 Delta Time is quickly becoming one of the largest NFT games in terms of transaction volume. While the track is one of the most famous in the history of the sport, many wonder how the NFT is worth the steep price.

3 22, 2 Plot (Decentraland)

Plot 22,2 Decentraland

The virtual location in Decentraland was sold for 2,000,000 MANA, which is the primary currency in Decentraland. The price is roughly $1.85 million. One assumes that the buyer saw a lot of opportunity in the location. However, it has not changed hands since, and the owner is currently listing the space for just 80,000 MANA. Either the unnamed owner needs liquidity, or vastly overpaid for the idyllic location.

2 Angel (Axie Infinity)

Angel (Axie Infinity)

The Axie Infinity character is now listed at 3,000 ETH, which is more than 6 million dollars. The item has been traded back and forth between two unnamed users over the past couple of months. Angel was originally purchased for $100,000 in Eth and it appears the purchaser(s) are trying to cash out on it. There are no bids yet, which makes sense because 3,000 ETH is an unfathomable price for a digital collectible.

1 The Moon Room (Decentraland)

The Moon Room

The final NFT in this list is a unique property in Decentraland. Just 10 months ago, the Moon Room was purchased by Valhalla on OpenSea for 1,400,000 MANA. The sale marks the fourth 1 million dollar property in Decentraland's vast crypto world. The Moon Room has been transferred to another unnamed account and has not been listed since it was bought 10 months ago. It is evident that there is real economic value in virtual property in 2021.
