Todd Stashwick Co-Writing Star Wars Game

Shortly after Naughty Dog and Sony confirmed Uncharted Creative Director Amy Hennig was no longer with the company we speculated she would not just land on her feet but would make a huge splash with her next appointment. However, we never could have imagined Hennig would end up leading Visceral Games' next-gen Star Wars project. For gamers it was a dream pairing: one of the greatest writers currently working in video games and one of the biggest properties in the world.

That being said, it appears the big announcements regarding this new Star Wars game are only getting started. Today, we have learned that yet another member of the Uncharted 4 team, mo-cap and voice actor Todd Stashwick, has joined this new Star Wars project.

Although many might not recognize the name Todd Stashwick, they most likely know his face. Stashwick has been working in movies and TV for several decades now and even has his own web comic series called Devil Inside. He's also a big gamer and a fan of all things pop culture, which leads us to believe he will work his hardest to get this right, even if this will be his first game writing assignment.

However, it was likely Stashwick's work with Hennig on Uncharted 4 - before her departure, of course - that helped him land the Star Wars gig. Although we know that Stashwick has a substantial role to play in the next Uncharted, we don't know what character he is playing. Some have speculated that he might play the main villain, which may or may not be a pirate, but at this point all we know is that Stashwick is in the game in some capacity. Check out the Uncharted 4 teaser to hear Stashwick in action.

Based on the recent influx of news, it appears Visceral Games' next-gen Star Wars is not only ramping up development but securing some top name talent in the process. There's no denying that DICE set the bar pretty high with their announcement of Star Wars: Battlefront, but it appears Visceral wants to make a splash of their own. And, this is merely speculation, but the hiring of Hennig and Stashwick suggests Visceral is developing a new IP and not creating a sequel or reboot. Either way, all we know at this point is that Hennig is directing and Stashwick is co-writing, and already we're excited.

What do you think about Todd Stashwick helping write Visceral Games' next-gen Star Wars project with Hennig? Which are you more excited for: this game or Uncharted 4?
