Uncharted 4 News Coming Very Soon

It's now less than two weeks until E3 2015 kicks off in Los Angeles, and plenty of developers are starting to release information about their next game ahead of the show. See today's big Fallout 4 announcement as just one example. But one major developer that has been quieter than expected is Naughty Dog. Just a couple of months ago it was thought that E3 would be the big coming out party for Uncharted 4: A Thief's End, but the developer announced in March that the game has been delayed to Spring 2016.

Uncharted 4 will likely still be shown in some form at E3 of course, but it's delay is good news for Sony's competitors, as the 2016 release date will help put the focus on other major titles like Halo 5 that are coming out this year. The news has understandably disappointed some of the franchise's fans, but Naughty Dog has tried its best to keep the hype going, discussing everything from the game's multiplayer to its cutting edge graphics in recent weeks.

With that said, this week has brought another small reveal concerning Uncharted 4 A product listing posted to Amazon has revealed the game's official box art, with Amazon confirming to The Games Cabin that the image came directly from the game's publisher.

Uncharted 4's box art is nothing unexpected, simply showing an older Nathan Drake, looking beat up and bruised in the jungle as he clutches his pistol. It's the same image that Sony has used in promotional materials for the game for months now. It's also the same image that was previously rumored to be the final box art earlier this year.

This obviously isn't huge news, and it's understandable that Uncharted fans would like to hear more details on the game besides what the cover on the box will look like, but given the disappointment from the delay, it's nice to have at least a little bit of Uncharted news to chew on ahead of E3.

It's unknown just how much of a presence Nathan Drake and friends will have at Sony's pre-E3 press conference on June 15. A playable demo of the game is probably unlikely with the title still being close to a year away. Gamers can probably expect at least a new trailer at the show, though, hopefully highlighting a bit more of Uncharted 4's gameplay.

Uncharted 4: A Thief's End will release before April 2016 for PlayStation 4.
