Nathan Drake in 'Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception' (Launch Trailer)

Along with this week's release of Batman: Arkham City, the Holiday 2011 triple AAA title season is now in full effect - with non-stop releases arriving on store (as well as digital) shelves through the end of the year. While plenty of gamers are keeping their eye on the heated PR/fanboy war brewing between Battlefield 3 and Modern Warfare 3, many PS3 gamers are anxiously awaiting a title that's saddled directly in between the respective FPS title release dates, Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception.

Naughty Dog has released the final trailer for Nathan Drake's next (and biggest) adventure - and it's sure to get fans (as well as some non-fans) pumped up for more globe-trotting action-adventure.

It's no stretch to say that more and more people are discovering Naughty Dog's ground-breaking Uncharted series - which features plenty of enjoyable gameplay, incredible action set-pieces, and one of the most entertaining stories (and main characters) ever created for an interactive adventure. Recently, we found out that treasure-hunting action hero Harrison Ford even plays the game - and, judging by the latest trailer, it's easy to see why.

Check out the Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception launch trailer below - which, if you're avoiding SPOILERS, showcases what will undoubtedly be a few of the funniest jokes as well as biggest eye-popping scenes in the game:

The video definitely features a lot of different environments and fun character interactions that will surely make for an enjoyable time in front of the TV. Plenty of returning characters (including an updated Elena character model that can actually rival the sultry Chloe) as well as new villains and allies add grounded intrigue to the over-the-top action scenes the series is known to feature.

If you're unfamiliar with the various particulars of the Uncharted 3 story, here's the official synopsis courtesy of Naughty Dog:

A search for the fabled "Atlantis of the Sands" propels fortune hunter Nathan Drake on a daring trek into the heart of the Arabian Desert, a journey that pits him and his mentor Victor Sullivan against the occult treachery of a shadowy clandestine organization and its ruthless leader. When the terrible secrets of this lost city are unearthed, Drake's quest descends into a desperate bid for survival that strains the limits of his endurance and forces him to confront his deepest fears.

While the future of the series is somewhat uncertain, considering Naughty Dog claims Uncharted 4 will have to run on the PS4 (which has yet-to-be-announced), Uncharted 3 looks as though it will offer a solid end-cap to the PS3 installment trilogy. In the mean time, fans of the franchise will no doubt want to pick up the Fortune Hunter's Club DLC pre-order package which offers players $45 worth of content (four map packs and three multiplayer skin packs) for the discounted price of $25.
