Seeing the Dinobots in action and learning more about their new origins in Transformers: Fall of Cybertron is one thing. Commanding a city-sized Autobot and seeing it in action is another.
Say hello to Metroplex, the loyal titan who follows Optimus Prime’s every command. We had a chance to see gameplay involving Metroplex at E3, a Transformer who represents the special ability of Autobot leader Prime, and today comes a brand new trailer headlined by the monolithic beast himself, along with some good news for fans eager to the sequel of Transformers: War of Cybertron.
In what Activision describes as a response to feedback from fans eager to get their hands on Transformers: Fall of Cybertron, they’ve altered the game’s release date. Fall of Cybertron will move from August 28, 2012 to one week earlier, on August 21, 2012. It’s not releasing against Counter-Strike: Global Offensive and Sniper: Ghost Warrior 2, one week after Sleeping Dogs and Darksiders II.
On the trailer front (up top), Metroplex is here to steal some of the spotlight away from Optimus Prime and Dinobot leader Grimlock, the latter of which who’s been the poster boy for High Moon Studios’ latest Transformers game since the initial unveil and teaser trailer.
It’s been a string of good news lately, starting with the confirmation that Fall of Cybertron is coming to PC after prior news to the contrary. Meeting the full Dinobot team – who High Moon rescued from Hasbro for this game specifically – is amazing news in an of itself, but the game is also embracing a darker tone while maintaining authenticity, thanks to the inclusion of key franchise voice actors including Peter Cullen and Gregg Berger.
For fans of the studio’s work, High Moon will be bringing this Transformers game to San Diego Comic-Con next week along with a major announcement regarding their next project which will be a Marvel game for Activision. Will it be Iron Man 3
Transformers: Fall of Cybertron releases August
28 21, 2012 on the PS3 and Xbox 360.
