Transformers: Fall of Cybertron has only been in the hands of players (read our review) for a few weeks and already, new content from High Moon Studios is available for download. Part of the appeal of the War for Cybertron sequel was the improved multiplayer features, specifically the fleshed out customization system which allows players to build their own Cybetronian warrior using tech powers and components from different types of characters.

With the Dinobot Destructor DLC, the "poster boy" character of the game (Grimlock) and his team of Dinobots - who are integral in the game's campaign - can (finally) now be used in multiplayer as well. The best part is, you can take specific parts of each of them to add to or make your own character.

The DLC content was announced only a week ago and includes Grimlock (T-rex), Slug (Triceratops), Snarl (Stegosaurus) and Swoop (Pteranodon). Today we have the DLC trailer to go along with character images and in-game screenshots of the content pack. The trailer also features the characters available in the previously released Multiplayer Havoc Pack available as a separate purchase.

All of the multiplayer DLC packs are available for $9.99/800 Microsoft Points, including the upcoming Massive Fury Pack which hits in two weeks, and all are available for the PC, PS3 and Xbox 360 version of Transformers: Fall of Cybertron. Below is the complete breakdown of the content coming for each pack.

Dinobot Destructor Pack - includes the following multiplayer characters, which includes their full body + individual body parts for use in the multiplayer character creator.

  • GRIMLOCK (T-rex)
  • SLUG (Triceratops)
  • SNARL (Stegosaurus)
  • SWOOP (Pteranodon)

Multiplayer Havoc Pack (already available)- includes the following multiplayer characters, which includes their full body + individual body parts for use in the multiplayer character creator.

  • ULTRA MAGNUS
  • WHEELJACK
  • BLAST OFF
  • ZETA PRIME
  • PERCEPTOR

Massive Fury Pack (releases September 25th) - includes the following multiplayer characters, which includes their full body + individual body parts for use in the multiplayer character creator.  Also includes the following single-player campaign items.

  • KICKBACK (Flying Insecticon)
  • SHARPSHOT (Flying Insecticon)
  • HARDSHELL (Beetle Tank Insecticon)
  • G1 RETRO OPTIMUS PRIME
  • AUTOBOT HOUND
  • Single-Player campaign items:
    • G2 BRUTICUS (character skin)
    • G1 SHOCKWAVE BLAST CANNON (weapon)
    • G1 MEGATRON PISTOL GUN (weapon)

The Massive Fury Pack adds a few bonus items for the single-player game but the more popular characters come in the now-available DLC. At $10 each, the "additional" content is rather pricey, especially when added to the $60 retail price of the game. For players opting in for all of the multiplayer content, that's $90 in just a month since release, making it far more expensive than Mass Effect 3 and its multiplayer content, where BioWare and EA have consistently added free multiplayer content.

For character designs already built into this game and releasing so soon, is $10 a steep asking price by Activision for each character pack or is it totally worth it and justified? You tell us.

Transformers: Fall of Cybertron is available for the PC, PS3, and Xbox 360.
