Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light breathed new life into the Tomb Raider series, even though it wasn't part of the official cannon. The game left fans of the series itching to get their hands on the official sequel in the Tomb Raider franchise, and it looks like these fans might get some good news soon. A two-page spread in the latest Gamer Informer was posted to Neogaf and looks like it could be a teaser for a Tomb Raider 9 announcement.

The picture depicts a wrecked ship with the caption "A Survivor is Born." This sheds new light on rumors that surfaced earlier this fall about details of the new Tomb Raider title. It was believed that Lara will be exploring a Japanese island and the game will focus on her origin story. The caption "A Survivor is Born," sounds like it definitely could be an origin story.

Along with this Game Informer spread there's also a site that informs readers of the a December 6th reveal of the cover and a possible Tomb Raider announcement. The site is asurvivorisborn.com and it looks like gamers should keep their eyes locked there – and on Game Rant of course – for the latest on this announcement.

Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light was a original and fun installment in the Tomb Raider universe. It may not be an official Tomb Raider game but it could be a hint into the direction that Crystal Dynamics is taking the franchise. To see how much fun the game is check out our review.

Are you excited for the next Tomb Raider game? We don't have any estimates on a release date, but that could all change in early December. Make sure you check back to Game Rant for the latest Tomb Raider news.
