Everyone celebrates Halloween in their own way, and for Netflix's The Witcher, it was a time to have fun looking back on all the spooky monsters and freaks fought by Geralt in season 1. The company uploaded a fun, unassuming video featuring all the different beasts and creatures that Geralt wrestled with in the first season, all to the tune of "Monster Mash." Curiously though, the clips featured more than just season 1 footage, with the company making it pretty clear that the careful observer would see some teases for the next chapter of Geralt's adventures.

Written on the YouTube caption was the phrase: “the White Wolf [that’s Geralt] takes Halloween as a personal challenge. But keep your eyes peeled for a few sweet treats… you won’t want to miss what’s hidden.” It's certainly true: there are two quick flashes of new scenes in the footage that audiences will miss if they aren't paying close attention. The first is some sort of strange clump of bloody, moving, grass or hay with an eyeball sticking out, and the second is three skeletons dressed in what seems to be some kind of lace and jewelry.

This by itself isn't a lot to go on in terms of speculation, but will likely set fans into a blaze of predictions regardless. What does seem to be known is that season 2 will likely follow Yennefer as she recovers from her use of magic at the Battle of Sodden Hill, as well as Geralt as he begins to train to Ciri in the use of magic. The question of how these new monsters will factor in is something that will likely have to wait until the release of the second season however. Though the skeletons in particular are inviting a lot of interesting questions about who they once were and how they wound up together in this dark place.

Season 2 of The Witcher is planned to drop in 2021. The show got off to a good start with its first season, and seems set to continue living up to expectations with season 2. While the exact release date is unknown, fans can take comfort in the fact that the second season is at least still filming on a delayed schedule.
