Obviously not everyone is tired of the zombie genre. For the week of April 30th, TellTale Games' The Walking Dead climbed to the top of the Xbox Live Arcade Most Played list. The point-and-click adventure title based loosely on the comic series appears to be a hit for both fans of the series and those interested in a zombie game with a storyline.
It goes without saying that the next episode of The Walking Dead has to fill up some big shoes to sell comparatively well to its predecessor, considering the absurdly successful games it managed to top.
You can read our review of first episode here, where it garnered praise for its ability to build a storyline with believable, interesting characters. Whether it can match the longevity of games like Castle Crashers (released in 2008) in the Top XBLA Sales list, however, remains to be seen.

TellTale will have to hope the next 4 episodes can match the success of their first outing at least, since a stellar launch ultimately means that standards and expectations have been raised for the whole. Each episode will cost $5 (or you can just buy the full season pass for $25), and since Episode One comes at a very low price, that certainly aided TellTale in reaching the top of the list. Especially considering alternatives to it cost around 800 or 1600 Microsoft Points.
It's widely expected that when the report for this week comes out, the title of most played game will be transferred over to Minecraft, which achieved record-breaking sales and garnered a decent score from our very own Riley Little.
But we'd be shocked if the splash made my TellTale is a one-time phenomenon.
