In The DioField Chronicle, players will experience the RPG genre to its fullest extent. Combat takes place in real-time, offering a challenge when enemies don't stop because the game is paused. Players must be quick-witted with their decisions and equip the most powerful weapons and tools at their disposal. One of these is the Magilumic Orbs that are collected throughout the game.

Magilumic Orbs for The DioField Chronicle are very similar to the Summons in the Final Fantasy series. These powerful orbs are used to summon mythical beasts onto the battlefield, potentially turning the tide in the player's favor. Their power can be increased through upgrades, making them an even more incredible resource to take on challenging foes. However, since players can only equip two of them at a time, it's crucial to know which Magilumic Orbs are the best.

6 Ouroboros

Ouroboros in The DioField Chronicle

As a reward for completing Chapter 6: Mockery of an Alliance, players will receive Ouroboros, which recovers part of the damage inflicted on the enemies as HP for the party members. Players interested in using this Magilumic Orb will want to upgrade it so that the summoner will receive might, and it will cause more damage to even the toughest enemies.

While Ouroboros is the final and most powerful of all the Magilumic Orbs that players will collect in the game, that power comes at a high price of 3 TP per use. Because it is received so late in the game, it is ultimately not worth the increased cost to use it. By this time, players will have already upgraded all of the other Magilumic Orbs to have an arsenal at their disposal, making Ouroboros unnecessary.

5 Coeurl

Coeurl in The DioField Chronicle

Coeurl is received during Chapter 4 for completing Fond Frontier and the Survey for Jade mission. When it deals damage to the enemies in the target area, it inflicts weakness on them. The best upgrades for this Magilumic Orb will unlock Wither and increase its damage.

The downside to Coeurl is that it requires almost as much TP as Ouroboros, coming in at 2 TP per use. Because it takes so long for TP to recharge, it makes this an ineffective choice for battling. If the players need to inflict the debuffs this Magilumic Orb offers, they can use a party member equipped with skills to unleash them. While that will use EP, they will be able to summon using another Magilumic Orb multiple times before requiring a cooldown period instead of only once with this one.

4 Salamander

Salamander in The DioField Chronicle

Players will receive Salamander in Chapter 3 after completing the Escort the Priests mission. This Magilumic Orb grants might to all party members within the target area. Only requiring 1 TP, this is a cost-effective method for players to boost their party's stats. When upgrading this Magilumic Orb, players should focus on increasing the buffs to get the most bang for their buck.

Salamander is a medium-value Magilumic orb because party members can readily apply everything it has to offer. When done that way, the status buffs last longer than Salamander, requiring fewer applications. However, players who don't wish to rely on EP will find this helpful.

3 Bahamut

Bahamut in The DioField Chronicle

While Bahamut is the baseline Magilumic Orb that players start the game with, it is one of the most potent options to carry into battle. Boosting damage is the key when upgrading. Additional skills that are worth adding include Burn, Anti-Beast, and Anti-Barricade. They will make valuable substitutions for character skills.

Bahamut has a low cost at 1 TP and packs a powerful punch. Because its cost is so low, it can be summoned multiple times before players need a cooldown. So, while it won't take out a fierce enemy in one strike, it can effectively be used more than once to execute a deadly series of strikes.

2 Fenrir

Fenrir in The DioField Chronicle

Fenrir is obtained in Chapter 2 once players complete the Harbinger of Discord main quest. When it damages enemies in the target area, it also inflicts Freeze. One of the first upgrades to make would be adding Delay to slow down enemies' attack, movement, and cooldown speeds. Once that debuff is added, players can focus on increasing Fenrir's damage. This combination will make this Magilumic Orb extremely effective in battle. It's also a low-cost summon at 1 TP.

Because it comes with an added debuff, Fenrir is extremely useful in battle. It allows players the time to regroup or go in for a quick strike when inflicting Freeze. When other debuffs are added, it becomes a valuable asset to make the party much stronger, having the opportunity to lash out at its enemies while they are slowed or frozen.

1 Goldhorne

Goldhorne in The DioField Chronicle

Unlocked in Chapter 1 after completing the Coswell Volcano Mission, Goldhorne is the second Magilumic Orb of the game and the first to be actively collected. When summoned, it restores the HP and EP of all party members within the target area. Players will want to upgrade this Magilumic Orb's ability to heal EP as soon as possible to make it even more effective.

While its cost is high at 2 TP, using Goldhorne can be a lifesaver when in the heat of battle. Players will find it essential when they are on their last leg against a grueling enemy. Because item carrying has its limits, equipping this Magilumic Orb can make things much easier for players.
