Tekken has the most confusing and pointless story around. It is a very tight and enjoyable fighting series but this doesn't look good. I mean I ain't seen it but Tekken is all over the place and has such a wealth of characters that fans love meaning that one miss step with a shitty portrayal (Batista as king- What the hell is that) will ruin this film and the dude play in jin needs to put on some more muscle. just saying.
  • Wow. This looks like utter poop.

how do these movies get money
  • I think it looks better than Street Fighter for sure

It's not that bad. I'll rent it when it comes out on DVD the fighting looks good what more would you want from a movie based on a fighting video game that has no really good story to begin with

I have to be honest its not that bad i really like the cast and the fighting. Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun Li WAS way worse then what this looks like. I think this is a rent when it comes out on DVD.
  • PS: "This is Iron Fist!"
  • Yes, definitely back to back "fighting game" victories for worst film. At least Street Fighter (the franchise) had a deep enough backstory to draw from (even though Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun Li pretty much ignored it).

Tekken's overarching story has always been a mess. There might be some decent material in the individual stories of a few of the fighters but these movies can't succeed on just the sum of their parts. Mortal Kombat "succeeded" in this way - making the greater threat worth a group of heroes rallying against.

The only thing worse than all of the terrible video game brawler movies is the inevitable Wayan's production "Fight Movie."
  • !_!
i still dont understand why ppl hated DOA film, i enjoyed the heck out of that. but as for the first MORTAL KOMBAT film, it was pretty entertaning for ITS TIME

Mortal Kombat was awesome! How cool was Goro! Not to mention the score from the movie was fantastic. M O R T A L K O M B A T!!! Street Fighter, BOTH OF THEM, were on the other hand a pretty big let down. Let's hope Tekken can help break the tie.
