How To Obtain Your Red Dead Redemption Pre-Order Bonus

For those of you who pre-ordered a copy of Red Dead Redemption from GameStop will be privy to the Deadly Assassin outfit (which sounds redundant to me). There are some steps however, that you must go through in order to earn the outfit in-game. What steps are those? Well, have a gander below, pardner (minor spoilers):

Red Dead Redemption Delayed

Hold your horses! Rockstar Games’ upcoming western themed sandbox title Red Dead Redemption has been delayed again. But before you get up-in-arms about the situation you’ll be glad to hear that it’s only been pushed back a couple of weeks to May 18th (21st in Europe) – you can put the pitchforks down now.

The new date was announced via the official Rockstar blog, where they promised that this would be the final release date. They also added:

Oh, Mr. Marston! New Red Dead Redemption Trailer

Check your iron at the door, there’s a new trailer in town for Rockstar’s upcoming Deadwood simulator, Red Dead Redemption.

Entitled, “The Women: Saints, Sinners, Survivors”, the trailer spotlights some of the many ladies Mr. Marston will encounter throughout the game, from solemn nuns to six-shooting prostitutes.  But no so fast,  it isn’t all just bloomers and waving of handkerchiefs, no sir.  These women kill folk and talk a lot of sass.

Red Dead: Pre-Order Redemption

In the last few years, pre-order bonuses have become an integral part in the promotion of triple-A game releases. Usually, we are offered a choice between a couple of items depending on where we drop our cash. But for the upcoming western epic Red Dead: Redemption, Rockstar Games are taking things to the next level by making gamers choose between a whopping 8 pre-order bonuses, ranging from in-game costumes and items to store gift vouchers. Decisions, decisions.

Red Dead Redemption Screens Show Horses, Rope Play

Rockstar Games released a new set of screenshots for their follow-up to Red Dead Revolver and they do their best to show off the game’s wide open world as it is filled with numerous equines and some great bondage, ahem, hog-tying bounties. Maybe there’s some sort of unusual connection between the two, or maybe I’ll just shut up and show you the pictures.

Check out the latest Red Dead Redemption screens after the jump [click to enlarge].

Max Payne 3 Encountering Mismanagement

Max Payne 3 Encountering Mismanagement

Over the course of the week, workers, current and former, of Rockstar Games have been coming forward and citing that they have been working under less than ideal conditions. Red Dead Redemption’s development has been a victim and now Max Payne 3 is apparently another. Originally scheduled to release in the Winter of 2009, MP3 has been delayed to late 2010. An anonymous source from Rockstar games talks about the delay:

“The game’s story just went through another total re-write earlier this month (the third that I am aware of in the past two years) and that [means] the team would have to have all of the content done by April or May to make that August release date.”

That’s a very, very tight schedule to be working under and as a result, the source further cited Rockstar’s removal of employee vacation time and long work hours and weeks.

Red Dead Redemption Gameplay Trailer

Red Dead Redemption Gameplay Trailer

The Wild West is a genre that seems ripe for a great video game. Lawless towns, outlaws, bandit gangs, shootouts at high noon, gambling, the gold rush, and fierce Native Americans are just some of the elements that should make a terrific backdrop.

To date, unfortunately, no game has really done justice to this classic American theme (although Law of the West was good for some laughs). Earlier this year, Call of Juarez: Bound in Blood was promoted as the greatest Western-themed video game to date. The presentation of the Wild West elements was a great step in the right direction, and the game captured the gritty nature of the period, but many complained that the game’s single-player campaign was repetitive, too linear, and short.

Enter Rockstar Games and its attempt to take the Red Dead Revolver series to the next level. Check out the trailer below showing the gameplay for Red Dead Redemption.

Red Dead Redemption Release Date

Red Dead Redemption Release Date

The release date for Red Dead Redemption is on the horizon.

Rockstar San Diego announced today that the game will be released in April 2010 for the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3. The exact release date isn’t official yet, but will be announced on December 1st to coincide with their next trailer video launch.

Red Dead Redemption is the spiritual successor to Red Dead Revolver, which was released in 2004 to face mixed reviews: it was either a love it or hate it game (it’s one of the few PS2 games still on my display rack – take a guess which one I went with).
