For many gamers, the deciding factor for whether they should purchase a Wii U or not is the selection of games that will be available. Nintendo, after all, can always rely on its stable of exclusive titles to sell hardware. Though the game itself may still be several years away, it looks as if Nintendo may already have a title for the next game in the Smash Bros. series. A leaked internal document denotes changes expected in the next iteration of the game and gives us a title: Super Smash Bros. Universe.
The document in question goes on to describe changes being made for Super Smash Bros. Universe, including more more third-party characters like those introduced Super Smash Bros. Brawl, and the removal of Prat Falling, which can to hinder tournaments by introducing a chance of falling while performing an attack. Additionally, changes are being made to Samus Aran so that her speed matches her abilities in Metroid: Other M.
Of course, it’s entirely possible the document has been faked — and it’s especially suspicious given the granularity of the details found within — but we have to admit that the name and logo definitely look believable. Take a look at the document below and see what you think. Fake or legit?

Game Rant has already put together a list of what we would like to see in the next Super Smash Bros., including more third-party characters and downloadable content. Hopefully there’s going to be even more changes to be coming to Super Smash Bros. Universe. The addition of third-party characters in Smash Bros. Brawl was great, and expanding the roster further sounds that much better. If Nintendo can make a better balanced game with more original characters, Super Smash Bros. Universe could be a huge selling point for their forthcoming hardware.
What do you think of the Super Smash Bros. Universe title? Are you happy to hear that Prat Falling will be removed?

Has Microsoft Abolished Used Games on the Xbox One?

Universe isn’t bad, but I’d prefer Super Smash Bros. Unleashed, or Clash. Doesn’t matter though, they could call it Super Mega Fun Fight and I’d still buy it. Hopefully they do DLC with this, they could keep this game alive for so long.
Now I just want to start a petition for the American release to be titled Super Mega Fun Fight. Universe does sort of break the streak of fighting-related subtitles though.
They should open the dojo again!
Agreed! Dojo was one of the coolest promotional aids ever. I loved waking up every morning and seeing something new about Brawl revealed.
If there is a new SSB I want to see a few things.
DLC, Such as Maps and New characters, secondly I think it would be cool for the stickers to actually do something in multiplayer. Because they have all these effects in SSE but they are useless otherwise. Add an option like in the DBZ fighting games, where you can choose to use a stock character or a tricked out custom one that you use stickers on. Thirdly. I really would like to see a Majora’s Mask Version of Young Link. With his Final Smash being Fierce Deity Link of Course, And the ability to change into his other forms.
Fourth. Maybe add a 2nd control set or move set to a few characters? I know the Pokemon TRainer and Shiek/zelda and Samus had this but I think it would be nice to be able to pick the style the character fights before you go into a battle.
Fifth I want to know if there will be Gamecube controls.
Finally. More than 4 players in Multiplayer. 12 or even 8 would be nice. Since it is going to have the Wii U controls and you can use a wiimote. Why not have more than 4?
Not sure if they will even think about more than 4 players per console, but 8 players online or lan would be hectic but fun
Gamecube controller will definitely NOT be supported, as the Wii U drops GC compatability
More Third Party characters, eh?I know it won’t happen, but I want Travis Touchdown in this new SSB. xD
That next game could be better than Super Smash Bros. Brawl. But is it going to be a “Sora Project” game or is it going to be something else?

This list rather quickly lost its legitness once I saw transformers on there. :L
It actually lost it at Spider-Man, actually.
…minus that last actually
here is a list of characters that I believe should be added to the SSB roster for the new game:
Bowser Jr/Shadow Mario – Bowser Jr has been begging for a spot in these games since Melee, and if he uses the brush and changes into Shadow Mario, like in Super Mario Sunshine, then his moveset could be pretty unique
Paper Mario – you know you want him. plus, again, the hammer would make for a good move set
Geno – nuff said
Wolf Link & Midna – because I want a new Zelda character thats not a Link Clone. and, again, unique move set
Skull Kid – Majora’s Mask final smash… need I go on?
BRING BACK MEWTWO
Pokemon Trainer Female – for second gen representation, using Chikorita, Quilava, and Fraligatr
Deoxys – 3rd gen representation, move set potential, thats about all I got for this guy
Zoroark – his illusion abilities would make for a great move set. plus a final smash where he transforms into all 3 legendary dogs would be SWEET
King K. Rool – more villains, more DK characters
Krystal – more female characters, more Star Fox characters, but most importantly, she WOULDNT BE A FOX CLONE
Ridley – I honestly dont know why he wasnt playable in Brawl. I mean, we got to fight him. why not make him playable?
Zelgius – aka the black knight from Fire Emblem. because why not? also more villains
Samurai Goroh – more F-Zero, and probably good move set potential
Ray 01 – way too much move set potential, and while I was happy with a custom robo assist trophy in brawl I really think that a playable character is needed
Isaac – Golden Sun character, but mostly filler
Tom Nook – Animal Crossing representation, more filler. Give him an axe and I think it could go places
Banjo-Kazooie – has history with nintendo, 3rd party character, and again, way too much move set potential
Megaman – honestly the most likely 3rd party character to be added
I learned my lesson with Brawl. I will not be purchasing the next one unless I see serious changes to the way the game system works and how characters are unlocked.
Ojex, I like the list you’ve put together. It’s well thought out and all the characters seem they would have potential in a smash type fray… Only problem I see is with banjo/kazooie… As much as I would love to see them playable (as well as Conker, for that matter), I just see it as way too unlikely with Rareware and nintendos falling out in the gamecube era…
And megaman, I think would make a great character… Now that Marvel vs Capcom have dropped him, and megaman legends 3 has been cancelled, I’m sure he’ll have enough free time on his hands too
