While there are numerous triple-A games on the market, sometimes smaller titles manage to achieve similar success with much less money. Stardew Valley is a perfect example of this occurrence, as the game was a major success with only a small budget. Created by a single developer known as ConcernedApe, the game has gone on to have a massive following since its launch.

Stardew Valley is a simulation RPG that tasks players with rebuilding an old farm. Featuring a surprising amount of things to do such as fishing, tending crops, mining for precious gems, and even dating townsfolk, it’s no wonder many gamers continue to return to the game years after release. Recently, one fan decided to make a new piece of art based on the title.

In a Reddit post, a user known as Selgeron showed off a custom Stardew Valley magnet board designed around the iconic farm from the game. The creation included several impressive features such as a number of magnets with designs of animals and villagers from Stardew Valley. A few examples of these custom magnet designs included a cow, slime, and horse. Furthermore, the board contained a couple of buildings that could be repositioned along with a pleasant background image of the farm plot. Intended to be a toy for their kid to use, the creator made the magnet board with the help of their partner. The result was impressive with the designer noting that “it was a big hit!”

Selgeron provided some details on the process of making the magnet board. According to the creator, a glossy poster of the farm from the game was applied to a whiteboard to form the backdrop. Besides the house, the creator used laminated magnetic sheets for the buildings. For all the other moveable pieces in the design, the creator’s partner cross-stitched them together and attached magnets to the backs of the objects.

The Stardew Valley community on Reddit has been loving this new magnet board from Selgeron. With over 21,000 upvotes, the majority of fans are impressed with the quality of the piece. While the creator made the magnet board for their kid to play with, many users on Reddit admitted that they wanted one for themselves as well. Others suggested that those wanting to copy the design but don’t know how to cross-stitch could use laminated paper glued to magnets instead.

This is one of many creations made by the game’s passionate fans. Since the title was released, players have been making amazing Stardew Valley fan art of many of its memorable villagers and places. With this new magnet board completed, it will be interesting to see if Selgeron decides to make any more toys for their kid based on Stardew Valley.
