While little is currently known about the story concerning Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, it is known that the Jedi protagonist Cal Kestis is on the run from the Sith Inquisitors. Many may recall that Darth Vader leads this force of Force-sensitives in the hunt for any Order 66 survivors, over the Grand Inquisitor who had previously been defeated in Star Wars Rebels, and the latest tease suggests that players will come nose-to-nose with Vader himself.

More on this will be revealed on September 26, as developer Respawn Entertainment has confirmed that it will air a new trailer for Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order. Presumably, this teaser is a segment of that trailer. However, before moving forward, it's worth mentioning that this could theoretically be something else, but then again, it's hard to imagine what. Using Vader as a Red Herring would also likely be a move not welcome by Star Wars fans.

Either way, this teaser begins with an extended red lightsaber held by a figure slowly walking forward. Right before the camera cuts away, a flowing cape is also seen. While Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order will likely introduce more new Sith Inquisitors before it is done, one with the dark fashion of Darth Vader seems unlikely. The teaser ends with Cere pushing protagonist Cal out of the way and firing a blaster at the Sith Lord.

Since Cere herself is a Jedi Knight, it's interesting to see her use a blaster to attack Darth Vader, knowing full well that he could likely deflect the bolt. It seems likely that the situation will escalate, and that maybe Darth Vader will play a major role in tomorrow's trailer. Either way, confirmation that Vader does play a role in the game — a canonical role, even — is something that those hoping for a good Star Wars game will enjoy.

It'll be interesting to see how Vader is portrayed, but the Australian Government Department of Communication and the Arts recently stated that Star Wars: Jedi Fallen Order has scary scenes. Who else could put fear in a runaway Padawan than Vader himself? Hopefully, more is confirmed with the new trailer.

Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order releases on November 15, 2019 for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
