It's been a very long and, at times, rocky road for the Star Wars Battlefront series. While the first two games were handled by the now shuttered Pandemic Studios and LucasArts, EA has since swooped in to pick up the pieces. With DICE now at the helm for the next entry in the series, fans have been chomping at the bit for details and gameplay footage of the title.

Thankfully, the long wait is almost over as the first footage of Star Wars Battlefront is being prepared for reveal tomorrow during the Star Wars Celebration event in Anaheim. In the meantime, EA has been stirring the pot further by revealing the first full render from the game.

EA took to social media this week to slowly tease an image of a Storm Trooper soldier with the intent of 'breaking the internet' with hype. With each part showing an attention to detail from the official Star Wars Instagram account, EA has finally released the entire in-game render for fans to pour over and speculate about.

While the asset appears to show off a great amount of detail from the scratches, dirt, and dents in the armor, there may be more to the image that's hiding something less obvious. According to Star Wars Battlefront Community Manager, Vincent V. Vukovic, fans will need to dig a bit deeper to reveal the truth:

While the Star Wars Celebration will cover all aspects of the beloved franchise, from the upcoming movie, to comics, and everything in between, Star Wars Battlefront footage is planned to be revealed during the EA panel tomorrow from 10:30 to 11:30am PDT. Thankfully, fans who are unable to attend the event in California can tune in online as the event will be streamed globally.

Star Wars Battlefront Full Storm Trooper

It's clear. based on the image, that this storm trooper isn't an ordinary version with its black leather shoulder pad and backpack/breathing apparatus device on it's back. No information has been revealed with the image but it's safe to say that this storm trooper could be featured during the footage revealed at tomorrow's event. With the game not scheduled to release till the end of the year, fans should be finding out the truth sooner rather than later.

Star Wars Battlefront is tentatively scheduled for a holiday release this year for PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4.

What do you think? Does this highly detailed model of a storm trooper get you ready to finally see game footage tomorrow? Let us know in the comments.
