Star Wars Battlefront gameplay reveals content that hasn't yet been shown including new modes, maps, and hero characters such as Boba Fett and Princess Leia.

With Star Wars Battlefront hitting store shelves in under two weeks, new gameplay is making the rounds revealing all sorts of new locations, characters, and gameplay, never before seen in video form. Fans are getting a good look at Tatooine and the forested world of Endor, both of which are gorgeously detailed and visually impressive along with a few new modes which have only been previously written about.

Vehicle gameplay is also shown off in great detail including an aerial battle featuring the Millenium Falcon and Slave I in both third and first person perspectives. One of the highlights of the Endor battle is that speeder bike gameplay is also revealed, showing player skill weaving through the trees while tracking down enemy players.

The gameplay footage also reveals gameplay surrounding hero characters like Darth Vader along with others which have previously never been shown off in great detail. Gameplay shows off Boba Fett on Tatooine as he dominates the opposing side with his rocket, flame thrower, and jet pack, which allows him to get the drop on a good number of enemies. Princess Leia Organa is also shown off acting as a heavy support character, throwing down a shield for her allies and picking off soldiers in the distance with the trooper bane skill. Even Emperor Palpatine gets some screen time near the end, zapping enemy players with his chain lightning and spinning through the air via force dash.

The recent open beta for Star Wars Battlefront proved to be a great success for both DICE and EA as it was confirmed that over nine million players logged in at least once to play the game. Whether it was purely due to player curiosity or actual excitement for the game, Star Wars Battlefront looks to pull in some big numbers once it releases later this month.

EA is surely banking on that popularity carrying over to the main game as Star Wars Battlefront is expected to sell 13 million units. While the number initially appears to be quite high, the number is pulled from the recent beta numbers and the fact that their other big franchise, Battlefield, roughly sells about 9 million copies with each game that is released.

What do you guys make of the footage? Does this get you more excited for the game or are you still giving this one a pass? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
