Coming out of E3 2012 there were several games on our minds. Some of them were substantial offerings slated for a fall release, while others were presented in a more nebulous fashion — the epitome of the vertical slice.

One such game that grabbed a lot of attention back then was Star Wars 1313; a game that unfortunately was a casualty of the LucasArts sale to Disney. There was a lot of hope contained within that concept, especially after learning that the game would have been a Boba Fett-led vehicle, but it just wasn't meant to be.

Even if we may never see Star Wars 1313 (we're still holding out hope!), new pieces of art and details from the game have continued to come forward. Late last week, for example, one artist that worked on the game shared a duo of concept art pieces that show two locations from the cancelled game.

Seen (in full) the gallery below, the art depicts Star Wars 1313's versions of the planets Tatooine, Hoth, and Coruscant, two prominent locations in Star Wars lore. In fact, Coruscant, or more specifically the prison established on the planet, was said to be a primary setting in the game. It was reportedly on the 1,313th level of that prison that the game's main character, Boba Fett, "cut his teeth" as a bounty hunter.

Unfortunately, with only two art pieces to look at, it's hard to glean any more details aside from the fact that the game would have featured some prominent locations in its story. There's the shadow of what looks like the Millennium Falcon in the sky, which is exciting, but it's unclear if that was an artistic touch or an actual story detail.

But, even though Star Wars 1313 is dead in the water, there are still plenty of reasons for SW fans to be excited. With Electronic Arts now in control of the license for, at least, the next 10 years, they have everyone's attention.

Already, the publisher has confirmed development on a Star Wars Battlefront sequel, developed by DICE, and there's at least two more games in development — one at Visceral Games and one at BioWare. In fact, Visceral's project has just recently started gaining momentum with the news Uncharted Creative Director Amy Hennig is heading up the game.

What do you think of the concept art from the cancelled Star Wars 1313 game? What other locations would you like to have seen in the title?
