With the launch of the PS5 also came the release of Spider-Man: Miles Morales, one of the most anticipated launch titles for the PS5. Having been out for over a week, many players have enjoyed wandering through the expansive open world present within Spider-Man: Miles Morales. However, many have also pointed out Easter eggs and Marvel references outside of Spider-Man, including a tribute to a certain MCU actor.

Much like its predecessor, Miles Morales contains numerous Easter eggs for players to discover. This includes references to other characters weaved throughout Marvel's extensive tapestry of lore. However, one of the more touching Easter eggs was shown during the game's end credits, where the developers paid tribute to Chadwick Boseman, the actor who played Black Panther in the MCU movies.

This isn't the only reference to Chadwick Boseman included in Spider-Man: Miles Morales. If they are diligent enough, players can find a street named after Boseman called Boseman Way. The street in New York City is 42nd Street and can be located between 1st and 3rd street. The choice to use 42nd Street is most certainly in reference to Boseman's first major film, 42, where he depicted Jackie Robinson.

This is a touching, albeit subtle way of paying tribute to the actor. For many fans, Black Panther is one of the best Marvel movies ever made, and the loss of Boseman was one that impacted many. Thus, it's nice that the developers lovingly inserted Boseman into their game as a way of preserving his memory.

In any case, it's nice that Insomniac Games has included so many references to all different facets inside and outside of Marvel lore. In the first Spider-Man game, there was a cacophony of different references for players to discover, including the Wakandan Embassy, Stark Tower, and Fisk Tower, just to name a few.

It will be interesting to see where Insomniac Games proceeds from here. The previous game received a lengthy, multi-part DLC campaign called The City That Never SleepsWhile there hasn't been any official news regarding any sort of DLC expansion for Miles Morales, there could be a lot of potential, especially for how well Miles' character has been received by fans. Then again, it's still somewhat early to be suggesting DLC, considering the game just came out over a week ago.

Spider-Man: Miles Morales is available now for PS4 and PS5.
