LittleBigPlanet has gained a lot of attention over the past few days with the PSP version of the game still not being available for download on the PSN, but there is some good news as well! As Siliconera reports, LittleBigPlanet is about to get a little bit bluer with the introduction of Sonic the Hedgehog themed costumes.
The costumes are based off of Sonic’s latest game Sonic Unleashed, and include everyone’s favorite blue hedgehog Sonic, along with Miles “Tails” Prower, Knuckles, Dr.Eggman, and Sonic the Werehog.
I’m not a fan of the Sonic the Werehog costume choice, but the rest are pretty decent. This seems to mark the first time since Super Smash Bros. Brawl that Sonic will be in a good game! Although those beady little eyes scare the crap out of me. The Sonic Unleashed costumes will hit sometime in the middle of December.
Are you going to pick up these wonderful Sonic costumes? Do you think they should have put Shadow in as opposed to “Sonic the Werehog”?

They shouldn’t have put in the Werehog and frankly, I wouldn’t have wanted Shadow either. Can’t SEGA get it through their heads that what adding new characters isn’t making the IP any better. Shadow’s not that ba, but the characters are beginning to get really lame. What about putting in an older character like Amy or Princess Sally? Or even better, Sir Charles Hedgehog (Uncle Chuck)!
Also, who else hates the new Eggman? I liked him more when he was Dr. Robotnik, and was short and fat.
Ya I agree Ryan. I think they should wipe the franchise clean and hold on to Knuckles, Tails, Sonic, Amy, and Eggman (Robotnik). Maybe Shadow… he was pretty okay I found (except for that god awful spin-off he had).
I would love to get this if i could simply download the game to get it!!! Thanks sony for treating your psp go adapters kindly, LBP isn’t the only game by the way, other games released after OCT. 1 havnt been put on the psn for download, just they are smaller games but still they are not doing like they said they would
remember when sega used to make consoles?
@ Echo
Video games peaked with the release of Sewer Shark and then Night Trap in 1992 on Sega CD.
As for these costumes, I actually wish that Media Molecule would focus on providing users with new editing tools to create costumes instead of offering licensed content.
I’m always a bit surprised at how late they are on the costume releases – why aren’t they releasing Nathan Drake, Ratchet and Clank, or Ezio Auditore da Firenze costumes right now? If you’re asking people to pay for LBP costumes at least give us ones that reflect the titles that gamers are playing right now.
If PlayStation Home can get franchise costumes out to users as each game releases – why can’t LBP?
@ Ben
Funny you mention Nathan Drake. When you buy LittleBigPlanet on the PSP you actually get a Nathan Drake costume for free!
