[Original Post] Sonic the Hedgehog 4 has been highly anticipated since its official announcement a few weeks ago. Sega’s official trailer for the title showed off roughly 1.793 seconds of actual gameplay footage; leaving Sonic fans with little to feed their growing hunger for the lighting fast blue bad-ass.
Today, those fans can get a more in depth look at the game’s first level, courtesy of some leaked footage via a wobbly handheld camera. Check out the Sonic 4 goodness right after the jump.
The trailer shows off Splash Hill Zone, and allows us to get a peek at some of the other levels that will be on the first episode. Casino Street Zone, Lost Labyrinth Zone, Mad Gear Zone and a Special Stage of sorts will all be available to tear up in the first episode of Sonic 4.
I have not seen Knuckles or Tails yet… but let’s keep our fingers crossed.

[UPDATE] It would appear as if Sega has removed every trace of this video’s existence. Clearly some button were pushed, so congratulations to those who saw the gameplay. As for the rest of you who missed out, I’m sure we will see more in a few short months.

Less than 1 minute in, I am pumped. Consider it a purchase.
The pricing is going to be really sensitive on this. How many total episodes will there be? It's hard to think of paying $50 for the “total” game. On the other hand, as soon as you put this in front of me I'm gonna wail on that “buy” button like my life depended on it.
I'm definitely psyched for this. Never had a Sonic game other than on my Game Gear and I loved it. This looks like just the thing to get me back.
Hopefully this doesn't turn in to the Watchmen games on Xbox Live. It looks pretty darn good though!
