Skyrim Creation Kit Mods - My Little Pony

Outside of a strong presence during the video game awards season and a few in-game updates, news on the Skyrim front has been relatively quiet. For PC gamers however, this is all about the change with the upcoming release of the official creation kit.

As with Morrowind and Oblivion before it, Bethesda releasing the official developer tool kit will let players create, add, alter anything in The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. The good news is that it's still on track to release by the end of January.

While it could be a while before Bethesda releases official DLC expansions for Skyrim, expansions which they emphasize are 'substantial,' PC players will soon be able to essentially get their own free (and limitless) DLC via mods created by the community, not unlike what we see from the LittleBigPlanet games, but without any restrictions.

With the toolkit - which Bethesda confirmed is still targeted for a release this month - players can create total conversions of Skyrim and trust us, we will get plenty of amazing and innovative mods from fans, especially considering how successful Skyrim has been on the sales front. Even without the official toolkit, we've already seen a variety of interesting mods that do things like increase the RAM usage to others that augment the in-game user interface and map system (for the better, might I add).

So, if you've finished the main quests of Skyrim and helped out your factions of choice and are now enjoying the unlimited amount of side-quests provided by the game's Radiant quest system, there's even more coming.

It's exciting, even more exciting than the My Little Pony dragon mod:

Kill them and absorb their souls! The My Little Pony mod replaces dragons with Fluttershy, who represents the element of kindness, but not in this game. If you're interested in trying out this mod, head here. It released only two days ago.

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim is available now for the PC, PS3 and Xbox 360.
