Eurogamer recently had an interview with Bioware writer Rebecca Harwick. They discussed the Sith classes in the upcoming MMORPG, Star Wars: The Old Republic, revealing that they’re going with two different classes for the Sith.
“Having multiple Sith classes allows us to embrace all of those Sith inspirations, instead of having one Sith class that was the jack-of-all-trades and the master of none.”
By having multiple classes, as Harwick says, it allows for a more balanced experience and allows players to see the Sith universe in an entirely new way.
The two Sith classes are:
- Sith Warrior
- Sith Inquisitor
The Sith Warrior will be well-versed with melee combat with powerful force powers, whereas the Sith Inquisitor will have stronger Force energies that will allow for Force Lightning and other devastating attacks.
Harwick also goes on to say that the story for each Sith class will be dramatically change the way a player experiences the game.
“And where that other Sith class starts in a position of privilege, born to lead and prepared from childhood for training at the Academy on Korriban, the Sith Inquisitor begins the game as a slave, plucked from obscurity and toil in a highly stratified, unforgiving Empire because of his Force-sensitivity and sent to become a Sith or die.”
Star Wars: The Old Republic is set to release sometime in 2011.
