Marvel Studios already has ideas for a Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings sequel. For those who don't know, Marvel is typically known for making sequels to its solo hero films. The only superhero film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe to not get a sequel (as of yet) is The Incredible Hulk. Other than that, most of the films typically get a sequel, and Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings may be no exception, according to Kevin Feige.

For those who don't know, Marvel Studios' Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings will be released on Labour Day weekend and it is the company's first superhero film with a lead hero of Asian descent. It will also be Marvel Studios' first film in phase 4 to introduce a new lead hero to the MCU. Shang-Chi is a martial artist superhero known for his exceptional combat ability and the technique of channeling his own aura to enhance his physical abilities.

Feige spoke to ComicBook.Com regarding Shang-Chi's sequel potential and said he has confidence in a second chapter. "The early reactions to the characters and to [Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings] itself gives me great hope that that people will want to see more of these characters," he said. Feige went on to say that you know a film is working "when it's not just the title character that people ask about." Feige is referring to the ensemble and diverse cast of Shang-Chi, who have all been receiving at least as much praise as lead actor Simu Liu.

Director Destin Daniel Cretton didn't even want to share his thoughts on any ideas that didn't make it into the final cut of the Shang-Chi. "There was one setting that we were not able to do in this movie, but I won't say what it is because I really hope that we get to do it again in another film," he said, making sure to avoid spilling any potential secret ideas. This should give hope to Marvel fans that the sequel is more likely, especially if the director wants to come back and do it again.

Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings' early reactions are already in from critics and they appear favorable for the most part. Most of the time these reactions give an idea as to how the general public will react once the film is officially released. The trailer highlights the work put into the combat scenes and numerous humor-filled sequences.

Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings will be a new step for Marvel Studios that many fans have been asking for throughout the years. People are excited to get a diverse set of heroes in Shang-Chi and see a new step into the next phase as fans await the impending Fantastic 4 and X-Men.

Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings will be in theaters on September 3, 2021.
