Launched two years ago, in June 2019, Samurai Shodown has been considered a reboot of the long-standing fighting game series. Faithfully reproducing the game's fun gameplay experience but with high-resolution visuals, Samurai Shodown retains its tendency to feature strong warriors from traditional Japanese eras and crossing them over from other SNK titles. Since its launch, the team has already released two season passes of both returning and guest fighters. Now, fans are excited about the two more that are joining the roster.

It has been a while since SNK's Samurai Shodown released a new DLC fighter to bring variety into the fighting game's meta. Alongside news of the release date of King of Fighters 15, SNK has officially unveiled the first two DLC fighters that will be part of Samurai Shodown's Season Pass 3.

In a recently released trailer, SNK reveals returning fighter Cham Cham and new guest character Hibiki Takane as the first two DLC characters of Samurai Shodown's Season Pass 3. Cham Cham was first introduced in Samurai Shodown 2, and then returned in the game's 4th title. She is remembered for wielding a giant boomerang as a weapon and attacking foes with her sharp claws. According to the video, Cham Cham will be implemented in the game in mid-March 2021.

The 2nd DLC fighter in Samurai Shodown is guest character Hibiki Takane. Hailing from The Last Blade 2, another fighting game developed by SNK, she is known for being able to quickly unsheathe her shirasaya, the weapon she uses to slash down her foes. Unlike Cham Cham, Hibiki Takane does not have an official release timeline yet.

There are still two slots in featured in the ending card of Samurai Shodown's Season Pass 3 trailer, leaving fans with their own guesses on who the next two DLC fighters will be announced. Players will have to stay tuned on SNK's official sites for future updates.

Samurai Shodown is available on Epic, PlayStation 4, Switch, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and Stadia.
