SR4 Enter the Dominatrix Header

Saints Row 4 has enjoyed quite the wild ride to completion and success, since the collapse of former publishing house THQ late last year. With German-based Deep Silver productions stepping in to save the ailing franchise some 9 months ago, Johnny Gat and co. were granted a brief stay of execution in which to prove their money making worth.

Fast-forward to October 2013, and the series appears to be back in rude health, topping 1 million unit sales during its first month of release and garnering a warm and widespread reception from critics. Now the title is set to receive a long overdue addition, by way of the Enter the Dominatrix narrative pack.

Scheduled to arrive alongside a slew of new in-game items, ranging from spaced-aged (and absurdly powerful) weapon types to Sci-Fi inspired mission modes, the content also introduces 10 wholly new achievements, as unveiled online today.

  • 'All Too Easy' — Kill Zinyak in less than 5 minutes during the 'Save the Planet' finale (10G)
  • 'Indomitable' — Complete the 'Meet the Dominatrix' mission without dying once (10G)
  • 'Rigging the Race' — Kill every competing pony cart in the 'At the Races' mission (10G)
  • 'Health Inspector' — Annihilate all of the green polyps inside Paul during the 'Pop His Top' mission (10G)
  • 'Bow to the Boss' — Defeat the Dominatrix in the 'Escape the Dominatrix' mission (15G)
  • 'Friend of the Raptors' — Finish all five Enter the Dominatrix missions (20G)
  • 'Hello Little Friend' — Score 250 kills with the Minigun weapon (5G)
  • 'OMGWTFBBQ' — Score 100 kills with the Flamethrower weapon (5G)
  • 'Ultimate Hot Potato' — Score 100 kills with the Grenade Launcher weapon (5G)

Secret Achievement (Potential SPOILERS Ahoy!)

  • 'Walking the Dinosaur' — Spend 30 minutes in the company of 'Chicken Ned's prehistoric predecessor (10G)

Like all good achievement lists, this latest 10-part tally throws up its fair share of potential spoilers and inside, quirky references. 'All Too Easy' likely refers to Darth Vader's ominous quip, taken from the latter stages of The Empire Strikes Back, in which Luke Skywalker narrowly avoids a pre-packaged trip to the frozen food isle, by virtue of a speedy 'carbon freezing.' It's not entirely unreasonable to imagine Enter the Dominatrix' final showdown riffing on this famous scene, if the achievement's title is any indication of included content.

Interestingly, the game's Sci-Fi pastiche appears to extend beyond more recent examples, referencing as it does the plot of campy 60s adventure flick Fantastic Voyage, via the body-cleansing 'Health Inspector' achievement. 'Walking the Dinosaur' also introduces the prospect of extinct reptilian enemies cropping up across the pack's 5-mission run, in a fan pleasing move oddly reminiscent of Battlefield 4's recent flirtation with prehistoric beasties.
