ModNation Racers is zooming towards its release date, but it would appear there is one more racer showing up late to the starting line -- Sackboy.

ModNation Racers hopes to be LittleBigPlanet on wheels, so it's no surprise to see Sackboy showing up as a playable character.

Not only do you get the lovable little brown-knit character, but you also get his custom cardboard roadster!

ModNation Racers meets LittleBigPlanet

LittleBigPlanet's Sackboy joins some other characters such as God of War's Kratos, Uncharted's Nathan Drake, and Ratchet and Clank's... err Ratchet and Clank, which are available if you pre-order from select retailers.

Sackboy, on the other hand, will be available for a limited amount of time at launch - on specially marked game packages.

In addition to Sackboy, and depending on where you pre-order from, every pre-orderee will receive one of Sony's title characters - as well as a mystery mod.

The mystery mods come in 4 different flavors: Mouse Trap; Lil Tinker; Cowboy; and Woody. You don't get to pick which mod you get and can't even ask your local GameStop employee to give you a specific mod - because you only find out which one you get when you redeem the code on the PSN.

Game Rant is pretty pumped for the ModNation Racer release on May 25th and you should be too... if you have a PS3 of course.
