The two Deadpool films and Logan will begin streaming on Disney Plus starting July 22, 2022, making them among the first R-rated projects to arrive on the streaming platform. Deadpool star Ryan Reynolds was appreciative of his films being included in the vast list of Marvel projects on the platform, but had a hilarious reaction to the films’ ratings.

To mark the release of Deadpool and Logan on Disney Plus, Reynolds noted on Twitter that there are some other Disney films that “should already be rated R for irreversible trauma.” He posted some cleverly edited rating cards for four classic Disney movies that may have seemed innocent at the time of release but have devastating moments or scenes that remain with children for a long time.

The first film that gets the R-rated treatment from Reynolds is Disney's first animated movie Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. Originally released in 1937, the film adapts the classic fairytale of Snow White. Reynolds points out how the film includes “breaking and entering,” along with “borderline polyandry.” He even comments on the fact that the “diamonds are cruelty free.” His rating card has a hilarious warning about anyone under the age of 17 requiring “one parent or seven adult guardians” when watching the film.

The second film that gets a nod from Reynolds is the 1957 classic Old Yeller. The actor believes that the film “should not be approved for all audiences, especially dog lovers.” He gives the film an R-Rating due to its “ugly-cry inducing murder of Old Yeller,” the canine protagonist in the film. Anyone below the age of 17 “requires [a] parent or a “good boy” who’s very much alive.”

Keeping the theme of animals going, Reynolds next turns his focus to 1994’s mega-hit The Lion King. The film, in his opinion, includes “fratricide,” the killing of one’s own siblings, and “mauling.” He isn’t too impressed with Simba and Nala's relationship either, recommending anyone under the age of 17 be watching the film with “parent, warthog, and meerkat.”

Finally, the last film under Reynolds' radar is the 1942 classic Bambi. This film is known to leave children in tears, and was referenced by the actor in his film Deadpool 2 as well. Reynolds believes watching the film will require follow-up therapy sessions due to the “cold-blooded killing of an innocent deer mom, that will cause lifelong trauma.” He recommends watching the film with an “emotional support blanket.”
