Rumor: Insomniac Games Coming to Xbox 360?

According to IGN, Insomniac Games, best known for the Ratchet & Clank and Resistance: Fall of Man series, is planning to release its future games for both the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 consoles. IGN claims that it obtained this information from a trusted anonymous source at this week’s Game Developers Conference.

While Insomniac has provided console exclusives to the PS3 in the past, it does remain an independent studio and this rumor has circulated in the past. With game development becoming more and more expensive, one could understand Insomniac Games’ desire to expand its audience. Does this mean Xbox 360 owners can look forward to a Ratchet & Clank or Resistance title in the future? Sony published both titles, which would likely prevent previous entries from being released on the Xbox 360, but it is unclear as to whether Sony has retained any intellectual property rights related to these games going forward.

Could we see Insomniac Games announce new games at Microsoft’s E3 press conference? Right now, Insomniac Games is not talking, but we’ll continue to update this story as more information becomes available.

Insomniac is not routinely mentioned in the same breath as developers such as Bungie or Valve. However, Insomniac's record of releasing highly-polished, critically well-received, profitable titles, right on time, year after year, is literally unmatched. When Sony was the dominant player in the games landscape, it made sense for Insomniac to be exclusive to PlayStation. That is no longer the case. This is absolutely going to happen.

I would like to see this just to watch the fanboys tear them selfs apart, ive got resistance 1 and 2 on my ps3 I dont understand why these games get bigged up so much they have got nothing on the likes of Halo 3 and Killzone 2, to me they dont seem anything special, never played ratchet and clank but from what I hear they are awesome

Im sure alot of you have heard the rumours of bungie going to both sony and MS with their next non halo game, wouldnt have expected either of these developers to support the other console a couple of years back
