Quite possibly one of the most iconic figures in music history in both looks and contributions to music, Johnny Cash, is getting some interactive digital music love. Harmonix has finally made music by the late and great Johnny Cash available for download, adding even more songs to the ever growing library of Rock Band 3.

Even more, songs that did not import from Rock Band 2 will also be available to add to your song library for the awesome price of free. Both track packs will be available on January 4, 2011 on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.

Here's what you'll get in the song packs:

Finally, music gamers will be able to put their Johnny Cash singing voice to the test. It is unfortunate not to see Cash's rendition of "Hurt" available, but maybe that's for the better. The pack does offer a good variety of Johnny Cash songs, combining his more known hits with songs that the gaming masses may not all be familiar with and that's what Rock Band is all about; expanding music knowledge and appreciation.

The free tracks will also add some Harmonix band tracks for you to gain one of the achievements available in the game. 2011 will promise lots of new DLC for the incredibly amazing rhythm game (read our Rock Band 3 review), as well as its counterpart, Dance Central. Fingers crossed for some Bachman-Turner Overdrive or maybe some Toto? Either would be awesome for Umloud next year.

What DLC are you anxiously awaiting for that hasn't yet been released?

Rock Band 3 is available now for Xbox 360, PS3, and Wii.
