With just a few more weeks until release, Capcom has revealed a special Xbox 360 exclusive online competitive multiplayer mode for Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City, titled Nemesis Mode. This unique mode will host four-on-four battle to the death with the opportunity for players to control the all too terrifying Nemesis.

Capcom is pulling out all the stops to get fans of the Resident Evil series interested in this new take on the series. With hopes that this game will broaden the franchise's market, Operation Raccoon City puts gamers in a whole different pair of shoes (sets of pairs, actually): Umbrella's. We have already seen the four Operation Raccoon City multiplayer modes, but this Xbox-exclusive fifth mode takes it to a whole new level. In Nemesis Mode, players will not only be fighting the other team, but they also must track down the control unit of Nemesis in order to gain the upper hand in battle.

Straying away from the survivor horror genre, Slant Six Games hopes this will lure new thumbs into the Resident Evil universe. The Spec Ops vs Umbrella Secret Service trailer can attest for this change, emphasizing a combat/military style of game more than a puzzle/horror/survival game. But never before have Resident Evil fans been able to control Nemesis within a RE game, which makes this Nemesis mode quite the feature for Xbox 360 users.
