It's supposedly set in or around Eastern Europe, with a village and "snowy landscape." There will apparently be a castle like Resident Evil 4, but smaller, and the game will lean into the medieval setting with its enemy designs.
For example, zombies will be wearing knight armor and have swords. The Resident Evil werewolves, or better described as "wolf-like creatures," will be in the game, along with the witch that was previously rumored.
Other details from the leak say that Resident Evil 8 will have more action than Resident Evil 7, with it being compared to the RE7 Not A Hero expansion as an example. Players will take control of Resident Evil 7 protagonist Ethan, though series mainstay Chris Redfield will also be in the game.
