According to Capcom Unity, the new content being included in the Resident Evil 5 Alternative Edition will be made available as downloadable content for Xbox Live and the PlayStation Network.
Capcom is being a little hush hush about what the content will entail, but they did reveal there would be some new adventures as well as other features they’re not ready to reveal yet. The Alternative Edition will support the PS3′s motion controller, while options are being evaluated for Xbox 360 players. You’ll need the RE5 disc to take advantage of the content so make sure you hold onto it instead of trading it in or giving it to your best friend. As if you would! Expect the additional content to be available Spring 2010.
Are you as pumped as we are about getting an excuse to play even more RE5?

RE5 was quite the awesome game, especially playing it co-op. It’ll be interesting to what new levels are added in and what, if any new co-op features are included.
Yes, this is definitely good news – much better than hosing early adopters of the game by requiring the purchase of a new physical disc.
Though, it is Capcom, they must have figured they’ll make more money charging gamers for the DLC than they would have offering a new disc set. I for one will certainly by the DLC, assuming it’s not too pricey; though, I wouldn’t have bought a brand new copy of the game.
I wonder how much it will cost.
It was a great (and re-playable) co-op game!
Interesting that they are going this route, rather than the way of the physical repack as is so popular recently. I’m down for more REvil though, although I still think 4 was actually a better game than 5.
