Back in August, Capcom unveiled its newest intellectual property, Remember Me, a game that takes place in a cyberpunk, futuristic world in the year 2048. As the main character, Nilin, players explore the city of Neo-Paris as an elite Memory Hunter whose own memories have been erased. Now, Nilin’s on a quest to find out who she really is, who erased her memory, and why. For a more in-depth look at Nilin, take a look at the first Remember Me trailer.
The new trailer reveals a little bit more of the game’s story than the previous clip. Nilin is awoken by the voice of a character named Edge, who knows of her past and informs her that she is a Memory Hunter. Nilin learns that she’s one of the best in the business, and has a unique skill unlike any other: she wields the ability to remix a person’s memory. She can completely change that person, all with the simple remix of a single memory.
Nilin is now on a mission to find answers. Answers to such questions as who she is, who her enemies are, and why her own memory was erased. And now that she sees from a different perspective in life, does she find herself willing to wield and use such power on people?
Remember Me is a third-person action-adventure that has qualities of games such as Dues Ex and combat – overseen by Street Fighter producer Yoshinori Ono – that recalls the Batman: Arkham games. Choosing to change the memories of others will play a key factor in how Nilin progresses through the game. For instance, she can choose to take out an enemy herself, or go the more creative route of making an enemy forget to turn off the safety on his gun. It’s all up to the player
There is a recent gallery of Remember Me screenshots over on Capcom-Unity, but here are some of the highlights.
