Cowboys and Zombies, a combination that can’t possibly go wrong. Ever since the announcement that Rockstar Games was going to release the Undead Nightmare DLC pack for it’s hugely successful open world western Red Dead Redemption, gamers around the world have been longing for some Cowboy braaaains. And now we get a glimpse at the Cowboy Zombie action!

"In addition to this epic new single-player adventure, The Undead Nightmare Pack also features brand new gameplay mechanics, weapons, zombie animals, mythical creatures and even a brand new secret location. All this, plus some exciting new multiplayer modes and much more to be revealed very soon."

We reported earlier this week on the announcement of the Undead Nightmare DLC pack, but today is the day we finally get to see the long anticipated trailer for this exciting add-on pack:

As you can see, the trailer is done with a tongue in cheek, classic B horror movie style. We see that hordes of zombies have infested the town and our hero John Marston has to find the cure and prevent the zombie plague from spreading across the entire frontier. Of course, what that means for us is lots of exciting zombie hunting action, cowboy style. Let’s be honest, when I think of slaying zombies, there is only one thing I think of... the shotgun. And I cant help but picture John Marston with his Winchester Repeating Rifle shooting the heads off a few zombies.

We are still left without a release date, as the trailer only hints at it with a jaunty "Coming Very Soon" statement at the end. However we do know that it will be available simultaneously for download for the PS3 and Xbox 360 for $9.99 and 800 points respectively. Not a bad price tag for a DLC that promises so many new game mechanics, a compelling new single player story and a plethora multiplayer options.

Though the trailer did not give us any substantial new information other than the beautiful visuals, it is clear that Undead Nightmare is going to be a must-have add-on pack for any Red Dead Redemption or zombie fan. Just the simple idea of a marriage between the Western and Zombie genres brought together by Rockstar Games is scintillating. I think Undead Nightmare is going to rock.

What do you think? Is this on your must have list? Does the trailer make you want to see more of the zombie infestation? Let us know!
